I checked the Alumilite website -- the resins I am using are urethane resins.

Bel -- Thanks for the response.  I am looking at a resin with a 5-7 minute working life once I finish off the resins that I have.  I also work on getting a pressure chamber put together.  Awesome!

Bel -- what do you use for your pressure chamber?  Buying one new is pricey, somwhere around $300 USD.  I've been toying with the idea that I could use a pressure cooker, but I wouldn't want the thing to explode when I run it up to 3 bars ( 42 PSI or so).

Another update:
The Alumilite white resin is curing properly.  I've baked the castings for 5 minutes or so after the resin has cured, and now the white resin has all the properties that I like in the tan resin.  In its favor, the white resin has a longer time before it starts to set.

I will post pictures tonight of the first few Pump Wagons made from the resin castings.

Bel -- Is that a pressure cooker that you are using for the pressure pot?  Or is it something else?

yeah. old soviet quality 4mm thick metal pressure cooking pot. 3 Bars  is a maximum I pressurized , usually 2-2,5 is enough. some guys from casting forums advice to use painting pots for airbrush - it holds 5 and more Bars, more safe.

Bel-- Thanks!  I was reading the pressure cookers here in the US are safe up to 2 bars only.  I've read that before 1970, the pressure cookers could go higher.  However, the thought of metal flying around at high speed makes me a bit uneasy.  I appreciate the advice.

As promised, pictures:

You may notice the whip wiedling goblins at the back of two of the Pump Wagons.  I put on some spare goblins I had to show that these wagons are in scale.  I also put the white pump wagon on a base so you can see that they fit on a base.

I will want to try pressure casting, as I can see that there are still air bubbles in these.

In other news, I finished the runes on my version of the Daemon Engine of Khorne.  I am now much closer to getting this done.  I also sculpted alternate "hands" -- cleavers.  If not pictures tomorrow then I'll post pictures of the Daemon Engine next week.

Would anybody be interested in a Lizardman Engine of the Gods in 10mm?

These are all excellent.

I would be interested in seeing anything and everything you put together!  :)

It looks like the clay color holds the detail better than the white. Two different materials or just a different consistency?

Way to go making your own mold system... shit, now you could take over the world!!!  8)

TIP: One of the pump wagons was cast using epoxy putty.  That's probably what you are looking at.  The white resin holds just as much detail as the tan.

I'm casting a few of these for an interested buyer who contacted me.  Does anyone else want some?  The cost is $4 USD per wagon, minus crew.  I can assemble the wagon for $5 USD per wagon.

Email me @ enelson at ieee dot org if interested.  Or a PM.

Excellent quality. Now if you start cranking out batches of Hamerers or something like Greatswords you could make millions. Muhahahah.

From me at least lol.  8)

Chris:  Thanks!  Um, do you have millions?  :-\

Is anyone else watching the Reaper KickStarter project?  So far I'm in for $180, and am getting over 200 miniatures.

Anyway, I thought I'd mention it because I used some of Reaper miniatures for my Cthulu Daemon army.

Yeah Im watching it as well, and I am also in with way too much money. :)

Your casts look excellent, looking forward to see more. Cant really use an engine of the gods but if it looks cool then why not? :) Wouldnt that be a great opportunity to make some Ogre test units. (Just thinking loud here :D )
