[WM] Vincent's Stuff
« on: December 06, 2009, 08:19:05 PM »
Hi guys (and girls?).

I've been painting and playing WM for a couple of years in France and just realised there is not much french guys sharing their project in this forum. So I decided to do it :)

I currently have a 2000pt Dark Elf and a 2000pt Chaos army, and will soon start a 2000pts Khemry army.

I've just started a 7 players Mighty-Empire/Warmaster campaign in Paris last month. It will continue until next may.
For this campaign, I'm converting/painting 7 heros (most are from official background, others are invented). There is one for each player, they will be able to add it to their army from next february, and will keep it at the end of the campaign.

Here are the conversion work for all heros:

Nakai the Wanderer for Lizardmen:

Artmunt Grishal (non-official), for Chaos:

Grimgor Hironhide, for Orcs

Gothrek & Felix, for Dwarfs

Vladislav Boukrin (non-official), for Kislev

Wurrzag, Orcs

Morathi, for Dark Elves
(I don't have any picture of the sculpt unpainted).

Ooh, nice. It's good to see someone putting into action all the sort of things that I keep saying to myself that I'll do once I've got 2k fully painted. You know, a steam tank to match the WH one, the new Grand Patriach (well he's not that new anymore...) and so on...

Hello Vincent,

The campaing/proyects seems delicous, and the work is excellent, conversions, ideas and paint. Very profesional.

All characters are customize full creative and original, it will be great to keep seeing them painted and also to read some feedback of the campaing or see pics of the battles.

By the way your armies are all the bad guys! very interesting,

regards

Absolutely fantastic stuff. Thanks for showing these, I'm hugely inspired and really looking forward to getting my painting stuff out again as soon as I can. I'd also be very interested to hear about your campaign system as I've been thinking of doing something similar (though I doubt that I'll find seven players). Are you using the old ME rules? And if so, what changes have you made? Any and all ideas will be gratefully received.

I'm happy you like them :)

I'll take some time this week to give you an overview of the campaign with some nice picts.
You can have a look to the campaign website in the meantime (rules and turns description mainly, very very few picts), but you will have to speak some french I'm afraid: http://www.brimarx.com/wiki/index.php/WMMFCampagneAtlantis/WMMFCampagneAtlantis

Basically we are using the new ME rules, adapted to WM and online-management. We will run a turn each month until next may, playing 1-2 battles per player per turn. That means at least 24 batles. The 1st turn ended today and went pretty well.

Wow, very impressive work.  Both the conversions and the painting are awesome.

I'm planning to paint a 2000pts Khemri army. But I do not like the "dark-ages" feeling the official minis have. They should have an egyptian feeling instead as the WHFB minis have. So I decided to test a conversion to make them more like their WHFB counterpart.

1st step, remove scythes, replace shields:

2nd step, template painting:

This is much more Khemri-looking from my point of view, so I will start mass-producing them from january.

Very nice skeletons. Just an observation though, certainly in actual ancient Egypt they didn't have iron, and I think that this has carried forward to the Warhammer Khemri. So perhaps they would look better with the metalwork all painted in bronze or copper?

Awesome work! Its a bold project to convert units in a mass army like Khemri but they look great, so totally worth it!

That is certainly true for Egypt.
I will give a try to bronze or copper and keep what looks better.
Thx for the advice.
