Mumakils ready to fight:

They will be used for Soul Storm's final battle with indians as a chaos-corrupted Ind army coming from the far east to crush the empire under the might of Mumakils.

Great work. I especially like the paintjob on the "elephants".

Be'lakor green is now complete:

For those who are new to this thread or do not remember, this conversion is based on the following mini (the left guy):

The demon has been cut apart a lot and only the face, an arm and a half and the upper part of the chest have been kept (almost) unmodified. The wings have been done from heavily converted manticore wings. I first tried to sculpt my own wings and almost succeeded, but that proved to be slightly above my current skills and that would have taken more time than I could allow myself to spend.

The green is now ready for painting and I shall start that very shortly since Be'lakor shall be ready for the Soul Storm final that will occur next 9th of April.

You could ask if the GD table progress is paused meantime.
Well, not exactly ;)

Vincent

where is the event hosted, I might drop by ?

On the table

- what are you using to cover the tiles ?
- did you (or will you) reinforce the tiles to avoid warping ?

The event is hosted here; it is the french Games Day 2011:
Parc Floral, Route du Champ de Manoeuvre, 75012 Paris, France (click for google map)
Official GW informations here (in french): http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?aId=13000012a
I would be more that happy if we could meet there :) (or anywhere else in fact ;) )

Tiles are 3cm thick extruded polystyren foam reinforced with a 2cm wooden frame.
They are covered with 1-2mm of plaster (the one used to fill gaps).
The surface will be coated with PVA to protect it from shocks and will be sanded here and there to vary the texturing.

The fact that 3cm of foam is pretty rigid and that the plaster we used do not retract (or is claimed not to anyway) should be enough to prevent any wrapping. Should we be wrong, we would probably apply PVA to the down side.
