I'm late, but better late than nothing
A quick (and partial) tutorial for the chaos temple:
/ Cut a base.
/ Cut a rough hill using foam; the important part os the plane part of the hill, where the temple will be built, and the slope where the stairs will be built.
/ Using heavy paper (350mg bristol) draw the chaos temple floor pattern
/ When your hare happy with it, cut it
/ With heavy paper again, build the floor tiles. When happy, cut them as well. Do cut them too small so that the joints are not perfects, and do cut some tiles in two/three parts and remove some corners to simulate aged tiles.
/ Glue everything on the temple hill. Add a layer of wooden glue unto the floor to protect it and ensure the paper will not worn out before the scenery is done.
/ Now cut the pillars out of foam. Break some of them after cutting them slightly to control where the break.
/ Cut emplacement for them out of the hill.
/ Cut W-like shape from plasticard and insert them onto the pillar edges. This serves two purposes. First it adds details. Second, it provides super-string edges and ensures the scenery will be much more resilient. At this step I also included a small metal rod within each pillar to make sure they are strong.
/ Glue each pillar.Sculpt patterns if you want (cut them out gently with an X-acto and then emboss them with a pen). I aged my pillars as well (if you don't know how to do than do not hesitate to ask) and then used greeen-stuff on the top of each pillar to have the edge clean (well... aged) and strong.
/ (no picture) Cut pieces of cork, work them to have a chaotic enough look and glue them around the hill to create slopes of broken stones.
/ (no picture) Sculpt the stairs out of green-stuff. I used green instead of other materials because green provides a worned-out effect.
/ Seal everything with wooden glue
