Early advances from the Empire side were down the right flank as the shooters went into the village and then the hill in front of it.
The 2/3 of the knights came through this center right flank fairly smartly and steam tank came racing right up to the orc lines early on.
Early casualties were largely on the orc side as the steam tank rammed into the Boar unit stuck in place to slow them down. This fight became
a bit more static when the giant joined in. Cannons are quite hitty aren't they? I found out just how hitty when they annihilated the unit of
trolls who were goading them from the opposite hill. In all the shooters did a pretty decent job of tying up any advance from the orc left flank
as they were constantly driven back by shooting combo of cannons, magic and mundane blows. It was probably about the 4th turn before they started
any advance worth talking about.
When the knight units on the center right arrived I frankly thought they'd rip through the lines a bit (lots of knights) but they got stalled
and then smashed by boar boyz, the giant and regular orc rabble. At a cost, granted, but after a couple of rounds of combat they were depleted
to the point of not being a concern.
