[WM] My goblins army
« on: September 21, 2017, 03:25:02 AM »
I have a game this evening and not enough wolf riders... So i have managed to prepare this unit as a proxy.

Battle squigs (very) quicky glue to a WM base, and some few characters unglued of their former base and added to those ones.

I think I will better the idea, but it was nevertheless something i intented to do. So even if it's not very nice for now, i'm happy of having started this project.

I think i will add a gobelin crunshed by a giant squig, and probably a howdah or two. And some more squigs if possible.

Excellent idea. I love it when stuff from different scaled ranges can be used in this way. I've done so.ething similar for bfg. As long as it's an organic critter it can work. These squigs certainly do. Look forward to seeing it done proper but I hope they serve you well in the upcoming battle!

I was considering doing a similar thing, but chaining two squigs together to make Warmaster-scale Mangler Squigs. I have no idea what rules I'd give them.

En masse and in purple here ...

Used them as Cold Ones proxies.  Have since replaced them with some heavy cavalry minis.  But they definitely have potential.  Wondered about putting them on wide bases as proxies for Daemon swarms?  But definitely a fit for chariots.  Or even Pump Wagon proxies?  Lots of options.

Thanks for participating, guys !

I do love too when 28 mm stuff can be used for us. I have been given yesterday evening during my game a 28mm giant spider, and i will see if i can use it as an arachnarok.

So many projects, so few time !! :D

They served my adversary mediumly yesterday evening, but i'm pretty sure it was because they where still badly prepard. Figs need love, time spent and a good painting job to be really effective in battle, we all know that ;)

I had to create from nothing two units for my game : one of chariots and one for wolf riders. I let my adversary chose what would be what, but clearly it can be used as procy for several using.

I will try to enhance those base soon, but maybe not until the end of the year or something like that.

Haha, that's another plan I had too! I'll claim great minds think alike.

The plastic spider should be easy enough to fit on three bases in column- I planned to do this, and count it as a Stegaddon. The main difficulty is how to make the crew? I was going to look a the Forest Goblin infantry, and see whether it's possible to recast them and cut out individual goblins.

I forgot to say that the first time I saw this usage (which I copied) was at a Saffron Walden tournament a few years back.  One of the O&G players used them as chariot proxies.  3|3|6+ and an extra attack on the charge (bounce?!) in the open seems about right.

Really!? I got to say the exact opposite. There is a direct correlation in the negative for me. The greater the conversion/paint job, the more the dice gods damn you to Oblivion. Was having this exact discussion with my postman (Paul) who is a lifelong whf brettonian player.  So he is a sad gamer these days...  Still I digress. Looking forward to seeing those big squigs done!

CaptPiett uses one of those as a Wyven proxy. Just added some tiny wings off a Malifaux miniature. I also found there on the WM archive site:

I have decided that the squigs upping the foot was a male, and that it was piing on the tree...

Step 1 :
