New BFG:XR Rogue Trader fleet. 1500pts

I made my Ore-Transport fleet using the new BFG:XR Rogue trader list. Whilst it is very cool getting my cruisers in there was a struggle. The list only has 4 'Capital' ships and two of them are light cruisers. Which is fine I guess but it makes the list very much a glass hammer.

Firepower 25 per squadron, Range 45cm with a Targeting Matrix???

Brigantine with Launch Bays [140]
2x Merchantment with Launchbays [170]
4x Armed Freighters [40] (transport Tax)


Overall the fleet has an awful lot of mid range dakka but absolutely no Lances, which is concerning but the Targeting matrix' should help. The Brigantine and the Merchantmen combine for a LB capacity of 8 which isn't bad for 1500pts but they are fragile though with little weaponry so won't be doing any heavy lifting. 

The heavy lifting is really up to the Grand Cruiser and the Havocs with the Swords as back up when things get close and personal.

To make it 2k I'll probably add 2 Brigantines with lances (mini-Lunars) and some more cheap transports.

Yay for more escort vessels in any list. :)

Plus you made a good list. Although Rogue Trader fleets can be so hugely varied it'll be hard to get a gist on what will be popular in the end. If only we had a really large community frequently playing this game.

Yeah, that's the truth. Although I'm happy to travel for games if there's people in UK up for a game. Provided it's not the other end of the country!

I have to cast/convert up half of this fleet yet so there's no rush  ;)

I changed the list up a little bit.

THE STONE FLEET -995pts

A few little changes but nothing massive. I felt the presence of so many 'Win-Havocs'  was a little out of character with my fleet so I replaced them with the Armed Freighter horde.

Armed Freighters could potentially be one of the nastiest things in this list. Fire power 3WB that you could boost to 45cm range and have a Targeting Matrix in there with a Bond-Captain. 6 of them with those upgrades is a huge 105pts. That's FP18, Range 45cm with a Targeting Matrix and +1LD. 0.o

It was hard to stop myself from doing that so I just went with the +5cm speed instead - As that's a 'fluffier' option.

Spare points went into giving the Brigantine Sensors, a Captain and a re-roll. So that's +2 LD for the Carrier squadron and their own re-roll. Handy!
