Hello friends,

I figured I may as well get this started.  I know I will be lucky if I can get much done during this busy month.

Tiberius: Night Goblins, stretch goal - Chaos Marauders
industrialtrousers: Grimgor,  Immortals, effigy
empireaddict: brigade of Chaos chariot proxies
Ole: Daemon Hounds
dry_erase: Tzeentch knights

Brigade of Chaos chariot proxies.  No stretch goal because it is Xmas!

Tzeentch Knights

I'm back in the saddle for December after a distracted November, because I had a moment of inspiration.

I really like industrialtrousers' Nurgle army for two reasons. First, the modelling is excellent. Secondly, it looks like a proper Chaos army... there's very little regimentation, troops vary in size and mutation and there's a sense of a cavalcade of chaotic lunatics charging across the battlefield.

I've always wanted a Tzeentch army, so I've decided to take a leaf out of industrialtrousers' book, add a pinch of Hieronymus Bosch and convert a unit of chaos knights model by model. The only rules - all models converted from stuff I already have and no two models alike.

Some work in progress:

Excellent. Tzeentch gives you even more license. Loving these.

@dry_erase, that's bonkers but also brilliant!

Thanks - there are now some more, slightly odder, mounts almost done. The half-chimp, half-snake is a current favourite... some WIP photos of the first 7:

I'm tempted to make a chaos spawn based entirely on rolling D6+6 attributes from Realms of Chaos:Slaves to Darkness and then modelling exactly what comes up. Should be an interesting challenge!

Here are the rest - I've modelled too many for a single unit, but I'll start with just 12 for December.

Sorceror and familiar

Knights

Now! Painting - I'm colourblind, so would appreciate any suggestions here. I'm thinking that the armour needs to be consistent, so dark blue, yellow and perhaps a little purple. Cloaks all white to contrast and metals a mix of gold and iron. Then all the weird mounts will be different colours to make them suitably chaotic, but with an emphasis on reds, greens, oranges and browns so that they don't get too mixed up with the knights themselves.

Dark Elves, varnished and with some snow added to the base.

EDIT:  Ha ha, I finished them!

Two High Elf spearmen units!

Lovely. I think I'm going to have to redo what I've done. And then I still won't even get close....

Bugged it. I just don't have the patience or talent. Nice to have a goal though.

They looked just fine to me!  Nice work!  Plus you actually did something, I'm really doubting I will even come close to finishing this month, so much else to do...
