I'm far too late in noticing this, so I dunno if you're still reading this topic, but I have to say the designs are looking good. I'm especially impressed that your designer turned out fantasy mammoths that actually look like mammoths. Except for one thing, that I really hope is addressed before too much sculpting is underway:

Elephants aren't fully digitigrade. They don't have the same 'crooked' back leg as horses or dogs.

Thanks for the input.

Nothing is sculpted yet. The one Mammoth kicking around is a test for scale.

I will feed it back to my sculptor when I get to the stage of commissioning them.

Cheers

Barry,

A request - be careful not to make the mammoth figures, including the riders, too tall please. Think about storing them in boxes when completed? 50mm maximum would be good.

Quick update.

The moulds for the Warriors and Cannoneers are done.

I have cast up 75 units of Warriors and 40 units of Cannoneers so far.

Now working on the moulds for the Armoured Warriors over the next week or so.

Everything is on track and delivery should be on schedule in April.

Link below to my latest Kickstarter update if you want to see some pictures.

Played Barry at Warmaster last night and took deliver of my relatively small contingent of Ogres.  They look excellent! Will paint some up as soon as possible and post pictures in the modelling and painting section of  this site.

Mine arrived today. So much metal, sweet! That lot will keep me going for a while - 16 Ogre units  :) :) :)

So, Barry, when is the next KS then? No pressure (much  ;))

Next Kickstarter is hopefully in June for the Mammoth Riders and Characters.

My sculptor has been ill recently and so I am waiting for him to be well again before committing to dates. I don't want to give a time frame and then miss it :)

Thanks for the positive reviews guys, it makes the hard work worth it.

I got mine a few weeks back as well, and forgot to thank you Barry for all your hard work.  They arrived across the pond safe and sound, and they look excellent!

Looking forward to seeing your next work!

Tomorrow sees the launch of phase 2, which will bring to life the Mammoth Riders with a pledge target of only £500. It will feature three individually sculpted Ogre riders and three Mammoth mounts (£10) and for the first time ever, we will be running an "Early Bird Special" for the first 50 backers. Those first 50 backers will be able to purchase units of Mammoth Riders for only £8 per unit, a saving of 20% on the regular price.

Stretch goals include a character pack featuring 2 Shaman and 2 Chieftain models (£10 add-on), released at £1,000, and the Shaman and Chieftain riding Mammoths (£6 add-on), released at £1,500. More stretch goals will be added as the campaign progresses.

All phase 1 Ogres will also be available, as add-ons. £9 for one unit, £8 each for four or more units.

Please visit the Kickstarter preview page https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackgateminiatures/1043539538?token=ac1cbda9 comment, spread the word and help the second stage of the army become a reality.

Thank you all once again for your help and hopefully see you on the Kickstarter site!
