SpOOn's Warmaster Journey
« on: July 23, 2016, 08:51:27 AM »
So I have had a heap of warmaster gear for years and with a bit of interest from my gaming group I thought it was time to get it all out and start painting it. I have a whole heap of stuff to paint and I'm really looking forward to it.

I've always thought that the specialist games were GW's better games, I love epic, blood bowl and the games of warmaster I have played have been quite enjoyable. Finding the minis is the most difficult thing to do at the moment, I guess they can be found, just the at a reasonable price is the challenge.

I have the following armies; High Elves, Chaos, Empire, Skaven and the start of an Orcs and Goblins army. I also have a heap of the old forge world range terrain the paint as well.

I'm hoping this will keep me motivated to paint, more updates to come!
Cheers

Ha - these look familiar Sp00ny

Got any mugshots of the miniatures to go with them? I'd be curious to see the scale.

I used to get el cheapo terrain bit from pet shop aquarium. You can get bridges and castles and if all else fails a home for fishies :)

cheers

It's very pretty terrain :) So happy with it, can't wait to start painting all this stuff...

A rather large package turned up today, it was full of warmaster gear from Marell. I picked up a couple more forgeworld pieces and enough skaven to fill out my skaven army!

Skaven - 4 clan rat units, 4 jezzails, 4 rat ogres, 3 night runners, 1 plague monk and a blister of characters.

Small bridge - excuse the blury skaven

Orc boss hut and normal hut

and now my second fav building - Bunratty Castle... minor damage but still very good condition! Maybe its my 3rd fav, I also like the wizards castle and Black rock castle.

I have also received some orcs and goblins from Gus from wargamerau forum but will wait for the second lot to rock up for that update.

Think its time to pull some stuff out and start putting paint on them!

Oh my goodness that's a beautiful selection of scenery, and that mass of Skaven - lots of painting fun to be had it seems!

Also, that's an alarmingly organised painting table. I don't feel alive unless I've been looking of a single paint for 10 minutes!

haha my paint table actually looks organised for once... To be honest usually there is crap everywhere.
That paint rack fills the width of a 6 foot table :) Will take a photo of the whole thing next time.

Happy to see them in your hands :)

This big castle is really awsome. You will see that no other FW caste shades it on a table. It's the only one that has this huge dongeonish aspect once painted.

Mine is the only one i have ever seen painted so far, except the one from GW. So i long to see it painted.

I think about the crenel damages that you could mold one with blue stuff and then reproduce them and fix them with GS. There are some work but it should not be that long nor hard.

It's what i would have done myself.

Right, next update. Thanks to Gus from WAU - he's posted above I now have a good start to an Orc and Goblin army. The second half turned up today. I'd have to say the goblin models are by far my favorite models in the warmaster range so far, so detailed and full of character for 10mm figs!

Anyway here is the start the the orc and goblin army.

Wolf chariot x4
Goblins x5
Orc boar riders x1
orc warriors x2
Characters x lots
Black orcs x1
Trolls x3

I also have a few other bits and pieces coming in the mail.

In other news, I have started a test high elf archer stand. Not much to look at now but its getting there, here's my WIP.

After I have finished a couple of high elf units I'm going to attack some of these buildings with my airbrush :)
