lonly cabinet scenario warmag n 2. help
« on: July 11, 2016, 06:46:49 AM »
Hi I am preparing a game for this summer. We decide wargmag 2 the lonely cabinet scenario. Kislev vs chaos fighting for a mage who lives in a cabinet in the middle of the table during a great storm.

Well my computer broke so I lost access to my PDF until I buy one next month. I would like to prepare a command base for the mage but cannot remember if this guy was a good one or a chaos sorcerer. Can you tell me? Can you help me?

Just checked, it is not stated and he does not play an active role in the battle

Yep I know. But I would like to paint a miniature only as attrezzo or to be nice to the sight. If the mage is from chaos I would Paint a sorceror. If it is a mage I would convert a flagellant in a old fire mage.

We had some Interesting brainstorming about how to modify the scenario. One idea was the cabinet was the house of baba yaga, so the house could awake with bid chicken legs and could move randomly. Babayaga could enter into the game as a third party looking for hunt its own home. I even start a putty conversion of the old witch.

Other possibility more simple was the mage himself try to defend his cabinet from both sides using spells and summoning elements once per turn.

Finally we though that we will stick to the scenario and will no introduce moire complex mechanisms. Anyway those kind of scenarios drives me to paint special markers or characters. It is part of my fun as painter.

@ole I am talking about the scenario of warmag n2 called the lonley cabinet.

Normally I hate to correct someone's English, but you mean "cabin" which is one of these:

And not "cabinet" which is something you buy from IKEA:

This is probably too late to be of help, but I'm pretty sure that the wizard in the scenario is a good/neutral wizard. They seem to live as peacefully as any human wizard can- until stuff like this scenario breaks out. For a spell list, I'd go with the Empire or maybe Kislev list (you'd have to exclude the Teleport spell from the Empire list).

I like your baba yaga idea- mainly because I like that character. It could be frustrating though that the luck of the running chicken house may be the main deciding factor of the battle.

Maybe the cabinet is bigger on the inside? Possibly blue...

Yesterday I took a look into my bitbox and I came with this mage:

the girl will be Elen of Troy with a mycenic/aya potia custom.

I like what I can see with the wizard on vortex-thing.

I'm not a big fan of Elen of Troy, mainly because I dislike the Amazon models it's based off of. Having each breast as large or larger than the head has always looked ridiculous to me, and it's not at all helped by nipples that could fill a mug. I don't care about nudity, but the proportions are just too far off IMO.

jaja, that is right, the models are grotesque. I just painted it and well it works for me, mainly because there are no good nude female figure (with the exception of Obelisk, but I do not have those figures), . But your description of Amazons are so accurate! And no only the boobs, look those arms.

I didn't know you had based the model off artwork- that's quite cool. I do wonder if it was supposed to portray Helen of Troy in an unflattering manner though  :P
