[WM] Lustrian undeads
« on: May 17, 2016, 10:00:55 PM »
I thought i had already rpesented all that but i could not retrieve my former topic ?

Anyway... i'm working on a lustrian undead army. I have a painted one but i slowly change them to have an aztech looking army.

Here are my first shots.

A jade mask for my giant.

Cavalry on lamas (yes, they are lamas).

Infantry.

Giant finished.

Wip of the general and finished infantry base.

Archers turned into carriers.

And i have finished my general this week end.

A small force for now, but it will increase... Slowly ;)

Love it! The idea, the execution, the painting and the conversions are all great, looking forward to seeing the force grow, it's going to be seriously impressive sight when it's all done :)

Thanks all. Yes, the general and the giant are probably the most aztech like units. But i fear it will be hard to enhance like this all the army.

Mainly because there was no horses nor chariots in this historical old empire. But well... I will do my best for chariots mainly.

The Sphynx will be done from an old Ral Partha undead sabertooth tiger. It will be a count as and called "Jaguar God avatar".

Artistic freedom! In the old world there might have been horses ? :) the jaguar sounds like a cool idea ^^

Wow, these are brilliant. Love the concept which translates beautifully to the Lustrian theme and the colour choices really breathe life into those undead! (I'll get my coat)

Personal favourite has to be the King and throne bearers, wonderful idea.

Always like it when people take an imaginative approach to basic skeletons. The sabretooth is particularly great - fits the theme and a much better miniature than the GW Sphinx.

This reminds me - I have a half-plan to use some Microworld 6mm skeletons  as Warmaster undead pygmies:

Perhaps they'd fit your theme?

They look super sweet Marell. The general is really impressive as well - great use of spare bits and colours are very complimentary also. Will you do up some aztec type pyramid and terrain for your new army?
cheers

On the French forum, Marell has already shown some lovely Aztec pyramids he salvaged and modified for Warmaster.
