Feeder tendrils
« on: April 25, 2016, 05:37:55 PM »
So I'm having quite the time dealing with massive amounts of escorts armed with feeder tendrils while I'm playing Imperial Navy (Armagedon fleet). Most of my weapons are 30cm range so I'll get like one turn to shoot at all of them, and for some weird reason you can still use them while braced so the escorts are surprisingly hard to kill. Any advice on how to deal with this?

we are playing Expanded revised.

-Torpedoes, especially from large squadrons of Cobras or Dauntlesses that are fast enough to flank.  Line up for multiple hits, or put out several waves to make them maneuver to avoid instead of coming right at you.

-Battlecruisers and Battleships with longer range weapons.  If they're on BFI they can't go on AAF so it will take them longer to get to you.  Tyrants can also have some 45cm batteries.

-Take out the Hive Ship with Nova Cannons so they have worse leadership for BFI.  At least hit it with one lance a turn, which will prevent it from turning (it can only move 10cm with a blast marker) and slow it down.

-Spam bombers (hard to do for IN, but you can build a list to do it.)

-Cluster up, so that multiple ships have a shot against them for that one turn.  IN works better in groups that can support each other.
