Thanks for the generous comments chaps.

Finished off the Wiz, just added the missing hand and put a few more flames on the staff - I think he'll do.



I've also been converting some Baccus6mm Wars of the Roses crossbowmen to look a bit less medieval by adding some puffy sleeves, floppy hats, bits of armour and even a diddy little skull on a couple of them! This has been keeping me occupied while I wait for my Microworld order to be released from customs - boo hiss to HMRC.



I hope you think they look as convincing as I do!

dry_erase: I've got some plans to get a small range of figures sculpted up to make it worth getting a disk made up for spin casting. Will take time though as I'm always fiddling around with other projects.

A bit more of the 6mm Empire proxies, these are Baccus Late Medieval Mercenary Pikemen painted up to look Empire-y:


And here on a movement tray with a dice holder to track damage:


The crossbowmen are getting primed and I'm also converting some Late Medieval Men at Arms into an as yet undecided knightly order.

Really nice stuff. I totally like the idea of a scaled down Mordheim. I wonder if this is possible with Warhammer Fantasy as well. Has anyone ever tried something like that? I know that there is already Warmaster but playing Warhammer Fantasy in a smaller scale sounds somehow interesting to me.

10mm Araby superman in progress, photo soon, started doing the dollie of another one. More goblins and a troll (oh my) primed up..... so there is lots on the go!

MaWo79: I'm quite interested in using the models for a kind of scaled down Warhammer Skirmish game, I remember a skirmish book being released but don't know if there were any specific rules involved. I was thinking of using regular Warhammer fantasy rules, but with a small warband - a bit like the LOTR game i guess. Also, I've got loads of old army books and the early ones are packed full of cool stuff like runes, etc. and I'd love to get some mileage out of them (ironically, given my current painting, the Orc and Goblin book is one I don't have!).

So, basically, I reckon pocket Warhammer would be pretty awesome!

jchaos79: Read the battle report, looks like a really good little game! I'm planning to do a low model count skirmish using some modified Dragon Rampant rules - they seem pretty fast paced and look simple enough to make a conversion from units to single figures...... just need to get some opposition for my Goblins to fight!

So finally, after many promises, I've got a picture of the spearmen in various states of completion along with a strip of Araby figures to give you an idea of scale.



Quite pleased with how these are coming along, and I'm managing to keep (fairly) focused on the project!

More goblins and a troll being painted at the moment, woo!

I do not think the metal ones in the picture have a better quality than the greens one.

Same proportion.
Smooth surfaces.
Sharp detail.
Defined elements and features.
Plausible poses.
Realistic to cast (not imposible scorzos or thin shapes that spinner could not cast).
Concept homogenous to araby line

just the way I see the greens.
