[WM] My proxy Empire Army
« on: November 28, 2015, 12:54:48 AM »
Hello!  Brand new to the forum, but very excited to find it.
I am a long time player of Warhammer Fantasy, but I haven't actually played much since the beginning of 7th Edition.  Regardless I was still sad to see the destruction of the Old World. Recently I have wanted to get back into the hobby, and after a random purchase of the Warmaster Rulebook, I realized I had been playing the wrong game the whole time.

So for the last couple months I have been cursing eBay's warmaster prices, and buying stuff from Pendraken to create a proxy army.  I've gotten a few units done so far, I'd love to know what people think.

Here are my Knights, from the Pendraken range, with some green stuff additions:

Here is my steam tank, from a Pendraken Renault FT:

I hope you enjoy them, I'll post the rest of the army soon.  (Just Pistoliers and Flagellants thus far)

They look nice. How do you plan to use the square bases? Just keep the front and back rows together?

That was the original plan, but actually I ended up switching them to 20mm x 40mm.  These pictures are a little out of date now.  I thought I would maybe try mini Warhammer fantasy, and use 20mm square bases.  But now I've fully converted to Warmaster, so no reason not to use the 20 x 40.

Very nice indeed Tiberius. I particularly like the converted FT-17, the track marks behind it are a nice touch.

Good stuff! Prompted me to dig out some of my unloved blisters for Empire.

Thanks gentlemen!  The steam tank was a lot of fun. Turned out better than I hoped, also glad you noticed the tank tracks andys!

Here are my Pistoliers, made with Pendraken's ECW cavalry.  Pretty much just added green stuff feathers, and a cape on the champion.

Pistoliers are superb. The feather is a smart touch to enter in WH mood

Thanks all!

Stormwind, I agree, white and blue look excellent together.  A long time ago I accidently highlighted some regal blue with hawk turquoise.  I loved the look and made it the theme of my Warhammer army.  So now I'm trying to carry it over to my Warmaster one.

Here are my Flagellants!  Made with Pendraken medieval monks.

I used a lot of green stuff and jewelry chain.  I'm pretty happy with the results!  Here are what the original two poses in the set look like:

Thank you!  The chains were from very fine jewelry chain of a necklace.  I had to set it in super glue to keep it rigid.
