Well, you see, Zbrush is a clever bit of software that is like a virtual modelling clay, commonly used to create organic looking character concepts.

From what I understand if you are looking to 3D print something in order to cast, I think it is Blender which is commonly used as a leaping on point.

For the curious:

http://pixologic.com/

and you would care about that because you can use it to do things like this:

and since I have access to one of these:

http://formlabs.com/

I am hoping to draw up some 10mm things that there are not models for or to expand lines, print and then cast them. We'll have to see how it all works out though.

Gone through some of the Lynda.com Zbrush tutorials.  I don't know how it will all work out but its fun learning at least.

Here is my 10mm Middle Earth painting for October with a minor horror theme:

Terrifying bat swarms (Games Workshop BoFA)

Blood sucking spiders of Mirkwood! (Pendraken Giant Spiders)

Terrifying ghosts of army of the dead (made these from left over pieces of miscasts)

Easterling Cataphracts to (maybe) chase them all away (Old Glory SAR-102 Ghulam Cavalry, Armored Horse)

Group shot

Nice work, I like all the units you present here. Specially like cataphracts and the good use of the miscasts.

Great work! I love seeing Old Glory units painted.  I had been planning on using some of their cavalry like the Normans as Gondor Cavalry in 10mm.

I picked up some of Old Glory's Byzantine's to use for Gondor Horse.  I thought they fit better for my tastes than the Normans, or at least what I could see of them.  My main complaint of Old Glory is the lack of pictures, or when they do exist they are usually far too small.  Not sure when I am going to paint them up but I'll post them when I do.  Specifically, they are BZZ-104 Armored Cavalry Kite Shield, Half Armored Horse .

I didn't do too much unique in November.  Just some Rohan foot units from Cooplestone Casting.  Will get a little done in December but not a ton since I will be traveling a fair bit this month.

Finished my December painting early due to the travel plans.  Pretty small amount as well.  I am hoping to get more experience with Zbrush over the holidays so with any luck I'll have something on its way to being worth printing by early January.

Gandalf and Saruman by Cooplestone.

I made sure to fit some more LotR 10mm into my painting for January!  This time I bring you some heavily armored Black Numenorians led by Queen Beruthiel and 3 of her cat spys.  10mm scale cats are crazy tiny, like the size of an eye for a 28mm model.  These minis all came from Yann Hoarau's 10mm evil men campaign ( https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/evil-men-fantasy-10mm-miniatures#/ )

Really like all of these!  Feel inspired to procure some WM ME stuff now.
