Great to see bfg alive and well! And I'm loving mr okb. I have the defence stations, and would love him to line up the defence bastion.

What ruleset were they using?

The rules were Armada FaQ 2007 ones

Plus autorized fleet annexes from FaQ 2010
BATTLE FLEET BAKKA Page 32
ORDERS OF THE INQUISITION Page 45
SPACE MARINE DOMINIONS Page 53
ADEPTUS MECHANICUS Page 62
ROGUE TRADERS Page 70
POWERS OF CHAOS Page 101
CRAFTWORLD ELDAR Page 124
ORK CLANZ Page 146
TAU KOR'OR'VESH Page 155

The FaQ 2010 core rules p1 to 18 are not played here (not validated)
The FaQ part from FaQ 2010 p19 to 31 is played here on both players agrement but wasn't validated for the tournament.
Intriguing choice of rules mixes. A few questions:

1. Do you have access to the 2007 FAQ? I'd long forgotten it and would like to read it again.

2. Why did you choose the mix as you did? I would love to hear the reasoning behind the decision.

3. Did people choosing to play with different rules for the same fleets have any affect on the outcome? For instance, Tyranids not limiting their refits, or Dark Eldar having 130pt cruisers instead of 210pts.

1- Yes, I can send them to you if you want, but I believe they are available here on one of the forum links

2- Some Fleets did need a bit more love (Orks and FW Taus) or some corrections as they weren't updated by FaQ 2007 (AM, RT, INQ, Craftworld Eldars, Chaos other than Nurgle) to be more competitives and here FaQ 2010 Fleets Annexes did come handy.

3- No You had to play by FaQ 2007 and authorized fleet lists. So DE cruisers were 210pts and Tyranids have double ordnances and so on.

The BFG FAQ 2007 was not available on this site, but I found it via a google search. Is the reason you all chose it over the 2010 that it was official, as opposed to the 2010's unofficial status?

Yep, as 2007 is official it won the status.
The second point for FaQ 2007 was some players wanted to use FaQ2010 FaQ part only, some other Rules part and FaQ part and some didn't know how FaQ 2010 rules and FaQ worked. All this made for FaQ 2007 as a solid rock to be chosen.

When there will be another tournament, I think we will acknowledge FaQ 2010 FaQ part as valid (p19 to 31) too, it's FaQ 2007 with a few improvments or clarifications.

Not the Rules part (p1 to 18), there are too many divergences of opinions on these unofficial rules
