Anyone up for a meet?
« on: April 02, 2015, 03:52:45 PM »
I had a silly idea to play the battle of east gate (dwarf vs goblins ambush at karak eight peaks scenario) and wondered if anyone wants to join in? we would need around 6 players (2 dwarf, 4 orc+goblin) and a time, place and date to do so (also some scenery maybe)

I'm thinking WHW sometime in the summer or thereabouts, it would be good to turn up with a bunch of painted armies (100% GW models of course) and commandeer a table in the main hall to really thumb our collective noses at GW, remind them we're still here....

if there is a good deal of interest then we may have the option of having 1-2 side games going on at the same time

thoughts anyone?

I like the idea and want to see photos of it. If you can build a free-to-use teleporter to get to and from the UK I'll even join in.

I could get. I don't have a car, but i live about a 15 mins walk away from GWHQ.

Not sure how big my Orc army is, I think it's about 5,000 points? it's also fully painted. One of my opponents is a dwarf player.

We are playing a game this Sunday, my Dark Elves and Undead against Dwarfs and High Elves. 2,000 points each, possibly Empire player joining us

I might be interested if I can persuade a mate to come too.
I have a lot of painted orcs and goblins - I'd need to do a head count and deduct all the non GW stuff, but it will still come to well over 6K.

The date in August will be crucial though.
When were you thinking?

I hadn't got that far.... thought it might be better to gauge interest and pick a date suitable for the most people....

We seem to have plenty of Orc and Goblin models between us (10K+) but less so with dwarves?

One of my friends has a large dwarf army (4K+) but its all non GW unfortunately so we couldn't play at Warhammer world with them. Does anyone with a load of painted GW Dwarves want to join in?

Dave

Nottingham? Date in august? (no can do 21-ish)
If I am able to "add" a friend with dwarf-capabilities, we can join.

Sounds promising....
So how many points of dwarves could you do if he comes?

Just as worse-case scenario planning, do you have a nearby alternative venue if WHW doesn't want you there? (You can never be sure with some employees)

I could find one but it would be "Up North" near Manchester.

I could be tempted up to Nottingham. I've got at least 2000pts of Orc/Goblins I've been meaning to paint  :)

no movement yet, I'm currently painting and preparing for the Epic Armageddon European championship next weekend, when I get that out of the way I can start thinking about Warmaster again ;)
