Empire Crew Pack?
« on: January 24, 2015, 11:35:38 AM »
Greetings Warmasters  8)

I have a blister called Empire Crew Pack in my collection. What is it? It appears to be Empire troops armed with bows. I don't remember if they've ever had rules or not. What were they used for? Are they rare or valuable?

I've never seen Empire troops armed with bows, but there were 'crew packs' for a few races. Generally they were just 2 sets of the complete crews from one of the races' war machines (eg. 2x crew from an Orc Rock Lobber, 2x crew from a Bretonnian trebuchet, and so on).

I've never known them to be unique sculpts- any chance of a photo? They may be mis-labelled or otherwise interesting.

As for rarity, they're usually nothing special. A collector may want some if they're NIB, but otherwise they're just a copy of a pretty common model (obviously some, like the Bretonnian crew, would be more sort after than the standard Empire crew).

Thanks for the reply, Geep. Yes, those are some reasons that boggle me about this particular blister.

Here's a photo.

Interesting, jchaos79... I have little familiarity of knowing what the Bretonian archers look like, much less finding them in a mislabeled blister! Good eye.

I think they'll just be my 'count as' Empire Crossbowmen from now on to stretch to the 2000 point mark.

Thanks for all the help!

Too bad it wasn't the crew pack. They are worth more than bretonnian archers.

The archers generally go for around $30 on ebay.

Really? I admit I haven't kept an eye on the price of those things, but the crew pack is just crew- they come with every cannon and hellblaster blister. I'd expect only collectors who never open them to like them as a NIB set, and I think that kind of collector is fairly rare.
Bretonnians on the other hand are a pretty sought after army, though I guess their archers are one of the least sought after things in the range.

Depends on the crew pack. Empire wouldn't fetch as much as a bretonnian crew pack for example.

The Bretonnian crew packs sell for the most obviously as all the other crew packs belong to the origional six armies.

The Bretonnian archers sell for around $30 per unit on ebay which is similar to what the men at arms and peasants go for. Although a bunch of peasant units sold recently for around $20 each. The knights go for the most and tend to be in and around $40.00+

I should really spend less time on ebay haha
