Xenos Races in BFG Campaigns
« on: January 21, 2015, 03:21:02 AM »
Hi all,

So we are about to launch into our campaign at the end of next month and there are quite a few players who intend to play Xenos. I have tried to play against and watch various games to try and judge whether the rants of OP were justified and so far I have found that while Necron and Eldar play quite differently, they are still vulnerable to certain tactics and weapons, especially in a Campaign setting.

Orks were just plain random and appear fine.

However I haven't been able to see any Tyranids or Tau in action?

Tyranids - I have heard stories of terrible builds like 16hp, 6shield/turret, 8 Launch bay hive ships which are basically invincible. Now after seeing the demise of an Eldar fleet at the end of Weapons batteries and necrons being crippled with Hit and Runs, I am taking the Nid OP accusations with a grain of salt, but I wanted to check with people who have actual experience? Are they broken if allowed that freedom?
Can they be curbed by saying no more than two of the same mutation or something?

Tau - havent heard boo about them?

I would not think tau would be a problem
They are a standard fleet that relies on carriers
