[WM] ToM's Warmaster painting PLOG
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:08:39 PM »
It's about time I finally get some photo's up! Hopefully this will keep me motivated to continue painting!

Sorry for the horrible pictures, unfortunately it's the dead of winter here which makes it hard to take shots outside.

Here's a couple of chaos characters I've been working on over the weekend. Still very much work in progress.

I've gone with a nurgle colour scheme for my chaos.

More to come, stay tuned!

Very nice!  Do you have a full army of Chaos planned out?

I have a few too many armies planned out, so I will need to do a lot of painting. The first two I plan on painting are chaos and lizardmen. I have about 3000pts of each to do up! I was going to create different army thread for each army, but I think it will make sense just to put everything in this one.

I plan on starting to work on the lizardmen this week.

Very nice.  The green & bronze combination really works.  Look forward to seeing more in future.

Very nice start. I assume the green means you're going with a Nurgle theme? Or will you branch out with reds and blues for some units?

Nice use of green in great colour jumps in the armour of the guy blowing the horn. It works really good for the champions of chaos!

looking forward to see more chaos n lizardmen!

Thanks gents!

And yes the colours will be fairly similiar for the rest of the army. It will have a nurgle feel to it.

The skin is done using GW paints

- Sotek Green base
- Washed with Coelia greenshade
- Sotek green again
- Temple guard green hi-light
- Temple guard green mixed with a touch of Ushabti bone for final Hi-light

My very poor skills with the camera doesn't really show all the hi-lights :(

For the blue scales on the back I used a base of Kantor blue with a blue wash, followed by teclis blue and lothern.

Basically GW's 28mm Lizardmen painting scheme copied and applied to warmaster lizards.

Hope that helps.

Great painting Tommy! It's really nice to see some painted lizardmen. I am looking forward to seeing both your armies grow (the chaos looks great, too!). Please keep us updated!

Finished up a saurus unit. Still need to add some grassy tufts at some point.
