Does anyone else concur with $150 being a fair price, or have an alternate figure? (at least someone finally spoke up)
Its hard to say, exactly. I'm in the process of putting together a Chaos fleet myself, so I have somewhat of a handle on what things are going for, but I'm going to paint it myself so I'm more interested in bare metal and NIB (or at least unassembled) plastics.
I agree that in the the Battleship and Grand Cruiser
could go for $50-70 on evilbay. Admittedly the NIB ones go quicker, but I've seen a number of well painted battleships go for over $50. Prices on the big metal models seem less effected by painting, either positivly or negativly. Unassembled
cruisers are definitely at a premium, but the assembled and painted ones seem to be going for $10-12 each. The escorts I would probably place a value of around $6-7 each. I think all together I would price your fleet at around $200-250
to the right buyer(s).
I think your best profit would be made breaking the fleet up, though. You can usually get more selling them off individually (or in smaller lots). Of course that's a bit more hassle, plus additional eBay fees if you go that way. If it was me, I'd probably sell the Battleship and Grand Cruiser each alone, sell the cruisers singley or in pairs, and the escorts in groups of three for maximum profit. Just remember, either way ebay can be a crap shoot. You might get lucky and score big, or you might end up selling the whole thing for a fraction of its actual worth (or not at all if you set too high a reserve or beginning price).
