Eldar heavy transport profile
« on: October 13, 2013, 10:50:15 AM »
Hey guys, I just need some advice regarding designing a ship.
I decided to model an eldar ship based on a drawing of the 4th edition eldar codex.
As the ship doesn't look like a warship and is a like big bigger I have decided to consider it an eldar heavy transport.
Here is the drawing and a comparison photo with a heavy transport (The ship still don't have details yet)

My problem is that I am not sure what should the ship stats look like,
Should it have 4 or 6 hit point?
Should it have weapons? shields? turrets?
I am a little bit lost with ships rules design if I am honest. ???

TURRETS.............2
SHIELDS..............1/holofield
ARMOR..............5+
SPEED...............10/15/15

Hey, I'm new here but I'm no starry eyed PDF trooper when it comes to Warhammer ;). Let me first say that you modeled the ship quite well. I took a look at your rules, and I'd like to point out a few things. In any case, unless I'm mistaken, all races use the same transport profile. Eldar transports should only have one move, as they are not fitted with the drives regularly fitted on warships. If I remember in an issue of Battlefleet Gothic magazine they release the rules for a "smallish" craftworld and it only had one movement too. Heavy transports would be no exception. 4 hits is appropriate for a small eldar cruiser sized vessel, Eldar ships have always been lesser in HP to the vessels of His glorious navy! Weapon batteries and turn is all ok, but 5+ is too tough, and all Eldar ships don't have turrets. Remember that even the Eldar corsair Void Stalker has 4+.

Overall a nice ship, well made, good design effort but just a few op areas :). Happy wargaming!

Hey

I'd lower the batteries to Fpw 1, but other than that it looks good.

Any progress with the model?

Hey you are right, that is what is supposed to be but eldars have their own stats for the small transport so I just wanted to think on one for this one.

Unfortunatelly the ships was in my bag that was lost in Barcelona airport when coming back. I was planning to finish it but It looks like I will have to wait. ;)
