« on: August 04, 2013, 01:47:06 PM »

UPDATE: A comment from user fred12df on the relevant thread on theminiaturespage.com  on compatibility:

I have a WM Araby army, that is a mix of GW, TB Line and Magister Militum.
The infantry from all 3 mix well. But the MM cavalry is tiny in comparison to the GW and TB Line.

I wish this was available in 10mm.....

Could work as a giant Djinn if it did not have a 40x40mm base

I have a djin/ethereal ghost for the old mithril range of 28mm figures that could work for me.

Pendraken ottoman Renaissance 16 cent fit well with the infantry and commands arab fantasy mood of gw. Specially like azabs and vassal infantry.

For the cavalry I would go for TB line muslim range. Also pendraken mahadist cav could fit well.

Camels could be done with irregular renaissance mogul or maybe with pendraken mahadist.

For elephants I like irregular mogul armoured elephants.

For flying carpets, a little scratch should be done with a cardboard as a carpet clipped to a "flying transparent base" and some kneeling archers. Irregular have some berber kneling firing that could be nice, but maybe every arab/ottoman figure could be nice.

Here are some potential Araby figures. The adult male (second from the left) would make a decent wizard.

I wonder if the seated female from this pack, with a Pendraken unicorn from http://www.pendraken.co.uk/AC31-p5150/ would be suitable as a Brettonian Enchantress?

I've got the Pendraken araby civilians - and they are nice figures, the standing man would definitely make a good sorcerer.

I've just had a look at the seated woman figure, and the jug is attached to her and she is sat sort of cross legged. I'm not sure it would be easy to add her to a horse.

I was thinking more of having her dismounted on the ground, (perhaps she's concentrating on casting a spell?), with a unicorn "standing guard" next to her.

the top right 15mm mini could potentially be used as a djini:

How about this for Elephants, from Old Glory:

http://www.oldgloryuk.com/disp_item.php?c=293&oc=3701&pic=1

5 to a pack. 1 unit of elephants and 2 character mounts for a 2000 point army.

Or the "spare" elephants could be used as Tuskas in a Dogs of War army  :D

Anyone know how they match up for size with other figures please?

This is from a Freebooter blister that had a couple of critters I wanted. Not that big but you could always raise the height with a green stuff whirlwind.

Greenskins are Pendraken goblins (orc size)
