Great minds think alike! (and fools seldom differ :/ )

If it's the little system ships then, yeah, GW never supplied them with bases and there was no where to put the base either. Post people just used paper clips and pinned them to a base. Not very classy but it did the job.

Lance Destroyer as good as ready, any final feedback before I ship it off for printing?

Cool ships man I follow your progress all the time, I am kind of board with seeing the same style of ships though. So I wanted to challenge you to dig into your creativity and show me a twisted alien ship design from the mind of malika.

I would like to do an alien raider ship. It all depends on time and willingness of Vanguard Miniatures to produce such a model.

FANTASTIC stuff! As usual...

Just out of curiosity, When will the javelin fighters be available? Or did I miss them...

The 6mm version is already out. The BFG scaled ones are still at Vanguard Miniatures. No clue when they want to release the fighters. We should push them to release the ordnance models. :)

I would agree but I doubt that would go down well.  ;D Still it's been a while and bfg is in dire need of good variation of ordnance that for one is not cardboard and second does not cost the earth (shapeways stuff etc...)
I for one am greatly anticipating these!

Also. Did they get back to you regarding the station? If it's possible to cast it and whatnot? Another one on my wishlist ;)

Hey man, thank for the reply! :)

Regarding the ordnance, no idea yet about the price. It'll all depend on the casting costs. John has mentioned that the estimated release date will most likely be the end of August, but expect them sometime in September. :D

As for the station, there were some issues for casting and printing. I will have to chop the model up. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, it will just take a lot of time.

September is no time at all to wait. Sounds groovy... I'm sure whatever the prices I'll pay it!

As for the station. That sounds a cowson to do... If so complicated why not simply make that a 3d print jobby? Or I suppose you want to keep it with the rest of the matching models on vanguard's site/catalogue...

The station isn't too difficult to do, it will just take a lot of time, which is why I'm constantly postponing it.

As for keeping it as a 3d print thing, I'm hesitant about it because (a) it would be quite expensive to print on services like Shapeways and (b) it would then be in inferior quality. I'll just chop it up, it'll only take some time. :(

Gotcha. Patience is a virtue. especially to those of us playing a nigh on twenty year old game... I can totally understand not wanting to limit yourself to shapeways printing. Poorer quality and higher price when compared to vanguard's...

Started working on my tribute/interpretation of a Kill Ship. Also heavily influenced by that Blood Angels ship from Blood Quest.

The craft has been dubbed the 'Felis class Stealth Ship'. It's a tiny bugger (9.25mm tall, 29.01mm long, 9.89mm wide) that carries weapons that can exterminate entire planets or elite units (including assassins) meant to take out specific targets. A very fast, stealthy, and deadly ship, but totally vulnerable once discovered.

And compared to some of the other ships I've done.

Left (top to bottom): Lynx class Destroyer, Pardinus class Lance Destroyer, Felis class Stealth Ship
Right (top to bottom): Panthera class Heavy Frigate, Escort Carrier (still needs a name), Defence Monitor (still needs a name)

I especially like the Pardinus class Lance Destroyer and the Felis class Stealth Ship.
