Oh wow - of course there's interest!

These are fabulous - makes me want to buy the Land Raiders for my space wolves before they vanish off the GW website.

Really cool, are they salamanders?

I really like the unit with the command wth the chaplain, and the red and white guys.

great army

@Stormwind if you've got the readies, I say do it! I got my land raiders 2nd hand and they're quite old, I hear that the current moulds are quite worn though, so the detail may be a bit less clear.....

@jchaos79, not salamanders, Imperial fists (as it says in the thread title ;)) thanks for looking and the kind words! I'm proudest of the command stand, contemptor and land speeders, all lots of fun to paint :)

Next on the painting station is a brace of thunderhawks, when they're done, my 3k army for the counterattack tournament in wiltshire on the 22nd of June will be ready, then I will just be painting to vastly increase the size of my force! This represents about 1/4 of the total.....not including the reaver and warlord titans!

When I squint I see you've had trouble with mould lines on your rhinos!  That's what made me not want to buy new stuff from GW, ironically.  My rhino chassis sculpts have awful mould lines. =-<

Not only have you painted yellow well, you've painted dirty yellow on 6mm minis!  And on some tiny ancient sculpts!

That Contemptor is beautiful.  Care to share your colour / wash / glaze knowledge?  For a while I was considering doing Lamenters but settled on Space Wolves instead.

many thanks for the kind words, it really makes me want to keep painting!

the contemptor was a fun model to paint, I've got ten in total so need a stupidly huge game to ever make use of them all!

I'm planning a blood angels force in the future so may well keep a bunch to convert into death company dreadnoughts....

Painting wise it's quite simple, I sprayed the lot with army painter daemon yellow, then washed them all over with devlan mud (army painter strong tone works too) then I pick out the flat detail in flash gitz yellow, the black is painted black, then highlighted with charadon granite, followed by codex grey, and white edge highlights, depending on the model, I edge either in a 1:2 mix of yellow/white, or just with pure white, I edge quite a bit as I like the texture it gives the model, as well as helping to make them look gritty and dirty and slightly banged up, which marines should definitely be, none of this pristine colour nonsense for me! the details are all freehand, if I could justify spending £12 on a forgeworld IF transfer sheet for about 5% of it, I would add some decals

I then paint on citadel textured paint, astrogranite shade, on the bases, and drybrush with white

the mud/weathering is graveyard earth, drybrushed on, and given a second ink wash on the track sections

if you're using army painter for the first time, when it says 'shake for 3 minutes' on the can, it's not kidding, you really need to shake it for a full 3 mins to ensure a good coat, other than aching arms, I can't fault the AP sprays, I've used 5 different colours to date and they've all been awesome!

Well I do have Wolf Grey now as a spray - but I had already sprayed them white 2 years ago - then basecoated in Adeptus Battlegrey.   Was going to paint them shadow grey, and had started, but now GW has completely changed their entire paint range - so thought I'd use wolf grey, wash them with black then drybrush space wolf grey.  Just did a test model now and it looks good!

I don't play epic but looking at these makes me want to.  Superb workmanship.
