A good question, the original was in the BFG mag#1 which I believe is the only one not listed here on the site.

Thats not the one I was looking for. Checked the stickies (I read them  :P)and BFG mag. Maybe it was in fanatic, I'll go back and check that tonight.

It was an old PDF, I don't think it was for the whole fleet, and it had the rules for the Invincible class BB.

EDIT: Just found Battle of Cold Passage in BFG Mag 13. That is kinda what I was looking for, but I remember there being a seperate landscape formatted pdf with a picture of the BB as well.

This is good enough I guess.

Ah so. Can't recall a separate pdf, perhaps someone scanned it differently?

Cold Passage is such a cool scenario. BatRep on this site. :)

I think it must've been that. It seems so similar.

Checked out your batrep. Pretty cool.

With the Invincible had made it into BFG:R

Those rules have Cardinal class cruiser, cool. Gotta build one. I wonder why it didn't make to 2010 Bakka list?

Don't say it! Long story, but if you look at the sticky posts, there's one labelled "we are concerned" by the staffers here. This was prompted by a massive argument over the Bakka list for BFGR, The Cardinal of which was a major sticking point! Speak not it's name...

I like the idea of quircky ships, and have used the Cardinal recently (multi-arc torpy goodness ;D). Little under-gunned aside from those tho.

Heh, if that was a problem, how the heck did the Schismatic make it into the Chaos list?  Or was it more that the Cardinal broke too many conventions for Chaos/Imperial tech in a single ship (the dorsal batteries AND the torpedoes)?

The torps were the main point of contention on the Cardinal too.

So... does that mean I should rethink my plan to build a pair of Schismatics?  ;)

Between the Schismatic and the Pagan, I'd actually expected the Pagan to make it in from Book of Nemesis, and the Schismatic to have been kept out.  I guess it's mildly more acceptable for chaos to have a str 4 L/F/R torpedo salvo than a 6 hit carrier with 2 launch bays.  Not too much of an issue anyhow; my fleet's big enough I can reserve in a Defiant if I really want one!

Edit:  On reflection, and with less snarking, I realize that a 6-hit, 1 shield light cruiser is significantly less threatening and easier to destroy than an 8-hit, 2 shield heavy cruiser, and therefore lower-strength, funky torpedo launchers are probably less of a concern rules-wise since, if nothing else, it's easier to neutralize and she carries much less firepower (a full cruiser broadside + 6 torps being a lot nastier than 2 lances + 4 torps too).

Im no fan of the Craphismatic either. The lower strength/ multi arc setup does flow well with a Chaos fleet tho, allowing it to support either a broadside or prow on approach. I don't see anywhere in an IN fleet for that tho.
