EBay near misses.
« on: May 19, 2013, 10:35:43 PM »
Anyone else had any close misses, or close wins, during the current ebay BFG selling madness?

I just had EBay glitch out and refuse a bid I made for a chaos fleet. £170 worth of ships new, sold for £150, I tried to put a max bid of £250 in with a little bit of time left to go and it freaked out at me and never accepted it.

On the up side I got £180 worth of Imperial ships for £130 so can't complain.

Aye someone got a real bargin on that chaos fleet. Considering it had 2 battleships which have been selling for £60-70+ each, they could get their money back selling those alone and kept the 10 cruisers and 15 escorts.

Great, I am going to loose the Repulsive Grand Cruiser. 6 days left and it is already getting pricey.

Got myself a Warsphere for £30 inc delivery. Seeing as the last two I went for ended up going for more than the GW asking price of £41 I think I got a good deal, all thing considered.

Yeah those bigger chaos ships are going for pretty crazy prices.

The Repulsive is a really nice model but not worth the cost of a fleet.

For what it's worth, I think the panic (and prices) will decrease with time for all bus the rarest pieces.

This past weekend, I saw an Eldar cruiser, in blister, go for about $70, and two blisters of eldar escorts sell for $41 and $33.

I just hope GW actually fills my panic order. :D

Seems like it is the single blisters and boxes that are going for the silly prices, at least when it comes to chaos and imperial. Did see an eldar fleet worth maybe £100 new go for closer to 300.

Generally speaking I refuse to pay over what it would have cost me from GW though getting that imperial fleet for much cheaper than I expected yesterday made me happier to put a most of those savings into my next bid just incase.

As it was that little bit extra netted me the boxed game, a couple of battleships, a blackstone, some random escorts and extra cruisers.

Also means I have pretty much spent 4-5 months worth of hobby budget in 2 days, but over all I got everything for close too or just under what it would have cost new from GW if they had it all in stock.

i am watching some things on ebay. we do not have an active BFG player base in the area but i can travel for games. i sort of jumped on BFG right when GW cut the string on SG. i played a bit a few years ago but sold my fleets. i picked this up on btown last week for $135 shipped:

Despoiler Battleship
Repulsive Grand Cruiser
Acheron Heavy Cruiser
Hades Heavy Cruiser
Styx Heavy Cruiser
Devestation Cruiser
Devestation Cruiser
Murder Cruiser
Slaughter Cruiser
6 Idolator Raiders
6 Infidel Raiders

plus a planetkiller, rulebook and all the cardstock tokens and dice. I am going to match this with an imperial fleet for people who want to play and i have an ork fleet that i forgot about as well.

Some game stores that have been stocking small amounts still are now dumping them.
