Hmm, not so sure about the horns of the bridge. I think something along the lines of ribs on the lower part of the ship might look really good.

Digging the Strike Cruisers, is it just me or does the former Blood Angels ship seem a bit pink?

Thaaaaat's more like it. Bit of ship-colour shining through makes a huge difference.
Quite crucial to be able to tell minefields and rally points apart...

Yeah, I'm not thrilled about the horns either...

BA strike cruiser is a medium deep red. The flash on the camera is about 4" away from the ships when the photo is taken so it washes out the colors a bit.

Oi, what about trying to add some organic chimneys on the hulls of the cruisers? Kinda like the Tyranid Carnifex, Death Guard Grave Wardens, Typhus, or something like this. Could be downright nasty!

Sounds like a very good idea. Will give it a try.

And last but not least torpedoes and Death Claws (all from Shapeways).
Will be taking a break from this fleet now that it is playable to work on some other non BFG projects.

Torpedoes

5 of 48 death claws who are all waiting for bases...

Back to work on the Nurgle fleet!

Ravenstar BSG civilian ships in the process of being Nurglized:

Basic paint/wash on Nurglized Ravenstar civilian ships, two new Desolators and  a bunch of magnetized Nurgle weapons modules:

That's just the base color and the first color wash. LOTS more to do on the paint: adding purple bruises, green and red ichor leakage and rust, paint some of the little balls. Will also be adding back some of the original shipcolors back in, especially on the civilian ships.

A little more color for Marell...  :)

The two blue ships in the center have had their "original" blue paint restored to areas not affected by the Nurgle plague. All of the civilian ships will be done like this in different colors and I will probably try it on some of the DG ships with their original gray/white with green trim.

Also remember that you can see huge versions of these photos buy clicking on them and then enlarging them in Photobucket

Two Desolators pretty much done (still need to do windows). Tried to work original DG colors in there (green prow with gray trim, unpainted everywhere else), but got carried away with the goopy so it does not show much. Will limit the goop a lot more on the next ships so more of the original colors can come through. Used the DG symbol for the first time, but am very not sure about the glowy eyes...

Not a lot of info on DG fleet colors out there. Have only found one pic (Endurance) with anything else but overall gray.

Weapons are modular and magnetic so both hulls can swap between Desolator, Relictor and Desecrator.
Given the very limited number of Despoilers built (3), I could also use these hulls as more fluffy "counts as" Despoilers.
