A number of things I wanted to get for my fiance's eldar and chaos fleets have gone already, so this is to get some (ideally soon) advice on what to purchase:

Eldar
Assuming this goes through:
void stalker
eclipse
nightshade (2)
aconite
hellebore
hemlock (2)
Shadow
Solaris (2) (ordered before they went out of stock, no idea if my order got in or not)

She badly wanted the auroras, really liking those miniatures, but they're gone and sadly unlikely to turn up on ebay given how seldom they've appeared there.

Imperial
I have a slew of cruisers picked up from ebay (about 10 at this point) in varying configurations
Retribution
Emperor

3 sword
5 cobra
2 dauntless (2 torp)

The other escorts for Imperials have gone now so it's ebay searching time.

Chaos
Planet Killer
Despoiler
4 cruisers off ebay (not sure of their setup off hand)
6 new cruisers (will magnetise)
3 idolators
3 infidels

As with the aurora, she wanted to grab a retribution but they're gone.

For Orks we'll do a conversion fleet, and nids there are a few bio-ship style manufacturers out there.

Can't believe no-ones replied to This! >:(

Eldar
I'm assuming you've listed packs of models. You've got a varied selection of stuff escort-wise, the only thing I'd add is either another Shadow or eclipse to add some beef. You won't always get the VS on the field ;)
Is a pity about the Auroras. Still, nothing from stopping you proxying these as auroras, but I'm guessing you were after the model over stats

Imperial
Your more than sorted for capital ships!  Not too keen on the falchion, and my Firestorms always play second fiddle to the swords. Another 3 swords and 3 cobras should do you. Assuming you want make Escorts a staple of your fleets of course, I know not everyone does.

Chaos
Again, sorted for capital ships, Although a Repulsive would have made a good addition :'( (not seen too many on Ebay. Double :'()
More escorts would be a good shout (again, if you want to go that route). Recomend Infidels and Iconolcast, Idolators are a little expensive  for what they do. But that's my 2-pence.

I take it your new to BFG (picke afine time to start !;D). It sad to see new players get shafted like this, so I'm willing to donate the following-

2 cobras
2 Infidels
1 idolator

All unpainted and unassembled. Not much, but yours if you wish. Let me know if you do :)

It was for the model over the stats, yes. On googling for which ships were better she read one thread saying Auroras, another saying Solaris and a third saying they were both terrible so kind of gave up on picking for what would work best and just went for the ships she liked. Albeit that was also 'all of them', but particularly the Aurora. I'll just have to do regular ebay searches for it and be prepared to be mugged.

I was pretty sure I was good there, cheers.

The Repulsive is lovely, and apparently great in game as well, so it's definitely a double hit there. Still it's more likely to appear on Ebay then the Auroras!

Unfortunately infidels have gone to the dreaded 'no longer available'. I suppose I can proxy them, but they did look better to me than the idolator's with their giant skull on the front. I'll put infidels down onto my 'search ebay weekly from now on' habit I'm apparently going to have to develop.

That's incredibly generous of you to offer those ships, particularly given their upcoming rarity. I'd certainly appreciate it, if only for saving me thinking about the amount i've spent today.

I/we are new to BFG yes. I somehow never picked it up, despite having an original (albeit mostly falling apart) RT book. I picked up some ships to use in my tabletop Rogue Trader RPG and then decided to get into BFG after reading this site and blogs/batreps such as afterimagedan.

I'd been picking up the odd bargain here and there on Ebay, stupidly putting off the 'throw money at it' that I should have done a month or more ago. I've definitely been kicking kicking myself for not getting the ships sooner.

Next step (other than the ebay searching) is finding another mini maker to get ordnance/attack craft from. I've found a great resin line of Nids in France, so that'll be the next fleet once the wallet stops sobbing. And the space gaming mat, and asteroids and...

PM me for suggestions on ordnance/attack craft.  I might also have an extra trio of infidels lying around somewhere, let me go digging and get back to you.

Also, I'm not advertising, nor am I promising anything, but watch the modelling & painting section over the next couple months.

Welcome!

Solaris vs Aurora:
modelwise: subjective. I like both. A lot.
statwise: original rules: Aurora good, Solaris crap
statwise: eldar mms/bfg:R: equal

if he is by any chance not (unlikely, i know, but one has hopes), i desperately need infidels...  ;D
Nova Cannons are for these sissies who as a kid too preferred to throw stones at the others from a safe distance rather than closing in and get into a real fight ;D
