Update from Battlegroup Helios:
Quote
UPDATE
All Zeus pattern ships and the spear prows have been approved for manufacture. Mould making could start in as little as two weeks with a pre-xmas release quite possible.
Panthera and Lynx, both are now being re-printed and will be put back in production as soon as possible.
Also now in the queue to follow on the heels of these are another ten vessels for various factions.

Thanks for updating.

With all Zeus pattern ships these are the Frigates and the Cruiser model? (Destroyers are already available). Or might there be a light cruiser and/or battleship as wel?
Wait Mangozac released a Zeus light cruiser with the full resin hull. And later he worked together with (forgot) to make the cruiser: Mangozac did details and parts and the hull was 3D printed (really good quality), right?

Are the vanguard zeus ships based on the originals then?

And looking forward to ten more vessels. Yikey.

Regarding the Zeus ships, these are all the original designs that Mangozac did, so the Destroyers, Frigates, Light Cruisers, and Cruisers. The Cruiser was a model Mangozac did in collaboration with Armand (who used to be one of the early fellows who did some cool 3D printable BFG styled ships, sadly enough he dropped out of the game).

Ships News

After much thought I decided to dispense with the funding campaign and press ahead with self funding a bunch of the ships myself.

The Panthera frigate and Lynx destroyers previously manufactured in metal have now been slightly remodelled and remastered for resin casting. These three ships are now being  moved towards printing the masters and then moulding. Hope to see them re-released very early next year.

Zeus pattern vessels, the destroyer as you are probably aware has already been released. I have now received sample production castings of the cruiser, light cruiser and frigate which I have authorised to be manufactured ASAP, the casters predict a late November delivery date for the first batch of those. The Spear pattern prows will also be available around the same time.

Picture of all four ship types below.

I saw these on the FB group. They're awesome. Although I'm not sure I'll be getting the Cruisers or Escorts as I already have my Voss fleet pretty much sorted. Although it's 100% likely that I will be grabbing a pair of light cruisers :D

Are there any intentions to do larger ships? Grandcruisers and/or Battleships?

I know John was looking for someone to do 3D printed versions of the prows. Perhaps he could commission that same person to do bigger stuff as well. Nothing sure of course since big ships tend to be a risky investment. One thing I can say is that the design work for a Battleship for the Battlegroup Helios range is almost ready.

Understandable.

However, I hope it is not too big! The Helios cruisers are in size larger then the regular Imperial cruisers and as such can be easy used as either battlecruisers or even light battleships.

I fear a too large Helios Battleship will look odd next to the Emperor, Retribution, etc.

To be honest, I'd want some slightly larger than an Imperial Battleship as a centre piece amongst GW Battleships. Although not so large as to be unusable.

I guess we'll see in due course!! This might distract me from Titanicus though dammit.
