I'd recommend Gale Force 9 magnetic 20mm square bases for ordnance. Storage becomes easy, just put all your ordnance into a lunchbox and it wont break on you.

How official is this? I haven't been able to find that rule in the official rulebook. Source and page number please.

Attack craft are represented by 20mm square markers. When used in a wave, they must be spread and moved so they are always in contact with each other, and they cannot be stacked.

Bold mine.

Of course, if you don't use the 2010 update there is no "official" ruling on attack craft base size.  If a player had old ordnance on the 1x5cm Epic bases, I'd let them use them as long as they tried their best to keep the waves as close to "circular" as possible, so that there's no a long, thin line of bombers stretching from one target to the next.
