That are possible proxies, yes. The wings do the trick. However, I do not like the overall models to be honest.

With the right paint job those GZG Islamic ships might look pretty good, plus there's enough variety to cover the different classes in the BFG-R. The original Necron ships were also pretty rubbish IMO. The Shroud and Tombship in particular, like something some put together from left over bits and a minimum of effort. The Scythe was better.

This is another possibility for Necrons:

They'd be even better with the epic necron obelisks below, though I can't seem to find them available anywhere and scratchbuilding them looks annoying.

These might work for Necron escorts as well, conversion from 40k Necron Lychguards - a Phase Shield and the top of a staff detailed here: http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=23846&hilit=necron

Nids are obviously doable with repurposed 40k nid models. Dark Eldar from Reavers and Hellions. Orks can be scratchbuilt extensively.

Eldar are probably doable with babylon 5 minbari ships. Albeit they're also an ebay search time

I still like this for a possible Tomb ship but some of these are making me waver a bit :D

I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

The last thing you pictures are Relthoza, and I personally think they could pass for Tau if painted correctly. I have a starter set of Relthoza and they have a Tau thing going on.

Really? how well does that Scarab class compare to the Tomb ship? What other ships did you get to complete the fleet also if you don't mind? :D

I bought the models I like
Dreadnought for tomb ships
Destroyer for scythes
R&D cruiser for shrouds
Frigates for escorts

The vertical nature of the reltholza gives it s monolithic appearance that reminds me of the monolith.
But I can see why some wants crescents as representative of necrons.

How do those ships match up to the standard Necron ships tho? I know most of the Dreadnaughts are a bit bigger than battleships. The R&D cruiser is pretty awesome looking and Ive been looking at that one too.

The relthoza models are more bulky but I've always thought the necron models were too flimsy for their points

Grimdark bits

Ordnance and suitable Chaos/IN ships.

I also don't think anyone said Starblazers/Space Battleship Yamato yet (and these are cheap)

I hope it's not offtopic, nor its against the rules of the forum to attach a link to a blog (not mine, in either case)

I found some "Paperhammer" ideas for BFG out in the internet. I only googled it, so the hails are for those who made it up

Anyway, its cheap, but not so impressive as the very figures.

If there's any problem, moderators, obliterate the post and tell me what wasnt right, please. As one of the savants of our generation, Homer Simpson, said once: "It was my very first day (post)"

No problem Kor Boreas. Paper models is a neat way to try the game before hunting down models.
