well if that happens I say we get a couple of ships together and make affordable molds of wanted cruiser and pieces, prolly the best or ebay

Bad news from someone on Tac-command who contacted GW today. They are gone for good and won't be replaced as stocks run out.

Last chance to buy whatever you want from GW specialist games ranges, better be in quick. Though frankly I'd be tempted to direct my business elsewhere given the way GW has done this.

Now gone from Australian store also:
Eldar Void Stalker
Necron Tombship
Tau Defender

Yup its sad to this happen. Hopefully when this is all said in done we'll see significant hobby spending with EW, DRM, Spartan, C&C, and Abomination all increase (as well as new gap filling lines produced by them - hint hint hint ;) )

Just in case someone comes looking in here, this is technically the more relevant thread (UK store). I've posted this in the more complete thread, linked to by Jimmy Zimms above.

In what I hope will help everyone out (I don't want to add to any feelings of panic etc) I was able to get stock levels for key items for Imperial, Space Marine and Chaos fleets, as posted below. This was from yesterday morning so certainly items will have dropped and may be out of stock by now.

01/05/2013  BFG STOCK FOR GW UK:

Chaos Fleet
Chaos Planet Killer - x10
Terminus Est - x4
Chaos Desolator Battleship - x17
Chaos Despoiler Battleship - x20
Chaos Repulsive Grand Cruiser - x0 (very sad to see this gone already, I've always wanted one...  :( )
Chaos Cruisers - x20
Possessed Daemon Cruiser - x5

Space Marine Fleet
Space Marine Battle Barge - x25
Space Marine Strike Cruiser - x95
Space Marine Hunter Class Destroyers - x14
Space Marine Gladius Class Frigates - x23
Nova Class Frigates - x0
Firestorm Frigates - x3

Imperial Fleet
Imperial Emperor Class Battleship - x13
Imperial Retribution Class Battleship - x6
Apocalypse Class Imperial Battleship - x6
Imperial Vengeance Class Grand Cruiser - x24
Imperial Cruisers - x25
Imperial Dauntless Class Cruiser armed with lances - x10
Imperial Dauntless Class Cruiser armed with torpedoes - x3
Adeptus Mechanicus Battleship - x20
Adeptus Mechanicus Cruiser - x35
Adeptus Mechanicus Light Cruiser - 1 x0 - I missed out on this by about an hour yesterday, gutted!

Hope that helps some of you make informed decisions about what to get or not, and when.

does anyone know for certian if the stuff is going out of production?

I'm fairly certian that forge world is, but the other stuff going out of stock may be due to panic buying

on the other hand this sudden surge in sales (which i'm sure is happening) might make games workshop re-consider scrapping specialist games (one can hope)

good thing i ordered my retribution yesterday

i also saked the manager at games workshop shrewsbury, he said theres been no talk of ending specialist games, but that it is most likley the molds are on their last legs

as for forge world, they may genuanlly be stopping production as it must be such a small part of their sales

Anyone experiencing any quality issues? The wing section for my Apocalypse is a little malformed on the underside (not that you'll see it though).

Just wondering if GW were palming off badly made bits to get rid >:(

Well GW usually have pretty iffy quality control in my opinion anyways.

The problem here is that the moulds are dead which is a reason why the ranges are being scrapped, so these last batch minis are probably going to be as bad as things can get while making it through QC.

At least that is my understanding of the situation, similarly Epic suffered from a lot of casts dropping in quality for years now.

The thought had occured to me, my desolator is missing one wing and they shipped the despoiler with Imperial batteries!

All three admech ships came with just the CL having a minor miscast on one of the small admech symbols. everything else is in perfect order. I think they must have improved considerably on the casting of the CL since Horizon got one. I even got all of the bridge pieces for the adMech battleship ;)

From what Ive gathered alot of the casts are fairly new and theyre just trying to move away from metal. Of course with 90%+ of SG in metal there wouldnt be much reason to keep the plastic stuff.
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

come to think of it, the cobra destroyers i got last week had alot of excess meatal on the prow, had to spend quite a while filing it all off (one of them is missing a torp tube)

i'm keeping my hopes up that this drop in stock is more due to the mass buying thats going on now and that it might encourage them to reproduce in plastic (could easily turn all 3 imperial battleships into 1 multi part box)
theres no such thing as over kill, its just making sure

My friend just got a Despoiler which also came with Imperial batteries as well.

I missed out on the Ad Mech light cruisers by a day so had to order 2 regular AM cruisers and the AM BS.

The SM Battlebarge was gone on the UK store for a few days but is back now.
