Ere we go again.  Now I’ve kind of strayed a bit as my original goal was to build me Brute Rams Ships (ok, ok, Da Bosses Brutes that is………).  I got sucked into a Battle Ship and now I’m playing with “Da Emperors Finest”.  In the end I think it will all work out, it’s just hard to stay focused when there are some many projects me head wants to touch.  Now, I’m not even going to start talking about me dreaming about Orbitals and Transports!  Soooooooo When I last left off I had some molds cooking.  The goal was 3 more captured Imperial escorts.  1 Cobra, 1 Iconoclast, and 1 Sword Class.

So I worried my Cobra mold was done.  A little too much of this and too much of that sent the mold to Da Scrap Pile. although to my surprise I think my 3rd Cobra came out pretty good.  I knew it would not need to be perfect as I was going to make a “Loota Ride” out of it any way.  Here it as fresh out of Da Squig cooker.

Next up would be Da Iconoclast Class Destroyer.  The original model had a lot of undercuts and little wot nots so I was worried.  I’m not sure if I mentioned it before but I’m really new to 2 part press molds.  I’ve seen people do nice things, but I guess Ork-tec. Is a bit behind da power curve.  At any rate I think my cast came out good enough to work with, although I don’t think I’d attempt it again.  Da Boss sayz “Good Nuf”, but between you and me he don’t see so well so I think we slipped one past him.

Me Sword Class I think was Da best of Da bunch.  Like a Big Daddy Rut Herder me stomach felt warm and fuzzy when I pulled her from the Squig vat.  Dis will work me thinks!

Da base bit for Da Sword looks a little ugly here, but I have to say it cleaned up pretty well.  I’m planning on cutting Da barrels and re-building with some plastic rod, and perhaps adding some wiring and grubbins.  Fiddly, but it should be a fun build.  Ok, “shhhhhhh I hear Da Boss, I’ll be back.

“Ok Da Boss has  moved on to go mess with some other git.  If he smells ya here it will be bad…………. So quiet up.”  So I’ve got me 3 ship blanks, I’ve  cleaned dem up and I like what “I’m seeing.  So I settled in and started working on me Iconoclast Class Destroyer.  As I started building and looking I noticed da Port side was warped pretty bad.  I contemplated just cutting off the turrets and building a new gun deck.  As I thought about it I decided I wanted to keep as much of the original model as possible.  I really want da ships to keep some semi-balance of their original form.  At a glance I want Imperial Admirals to grit their teeth when they see how we upgraded and improved their designs.  “Dat’s what ya gets fer leaving yer hulks floating all unattended like!”  So in the end I decided to just bash the original Iconoclast.  When I got around to putting on me Top deck I noticed the original model was warped in the same place………..  “Gerrrrrrrr attention to detail ya useless git!”  So in some ways I wasted a Iconoclast, in other ways it is what it was meant to be now.

Ok, I know this has been a lot to read (sorry).  Here I bring you “Da Skull Taka”.  It needs some more work, but is getting close.  I’m planning on doctoring up da big exhaust pipes.  I’m going to put some kind of straps on it.  Perhaps a wee bit of plates around Da prow.  The area just behind Da turrets, and below Da top deck I wanted to put in some kind of detail.  The problem is there is just no space to work with.  I may cut it out and start over again, we will see.  “Da Skull Taka” is my token Khorne ship.  Ya, dem boyz is crazy.  They is not much fun at “Da Squig Races”, but they sure are handy in a scrap.  It just takes a bit to get used to da ugly dog faced boyz but Da Boss sure likes dem so nobody dares say a word…………..  Unless ya want yer naked nugget helping to fancy up der bridge!”

Here is a shot of Da ova side.  The Bosta cable is a little off I think I need to cut it a bit shorter as da angle is off.  Other than that I think it is looking pretty good.

Ok, I’m going to leave you with a group shot of "Da Bosses new rides."  I hope you like what you see and if not I’d love some help.  Your comments and criticism is always helpful.  Thanks for taking the time to read this long post and hopefully I can inspire you to build so I can see your work too.  Then you can keep inspiring me!  Thanks……………..

Right on, thank you for the positive feedback.  It really does help one to keep going!  Speaking of which, I haven't seen any new work on your dread fleet.  It was a post I was eagerly watching...........

Yes, shame on me... It's still on my table. I have painted the warmaster Black Guard unit instead of continuing it.

I have ordered plastic elements from EverGreen and i did not received them (yet). I need them to make some broken parts (roofs, floor, etc). So i had to pause.

I'm away one month for vacations, and after that i hope to be able to continue it. It WILL be continued, that is sure. I don't know when, but you can expect me at the beginning of February (at dawn, look east).

Thanks for caring. As you say, it's very motivating ! :)

Hammers fall and cutting torches glow, I’ve got this sea of activity in me ship yard.  It seems like sometimes I move forward, but I’m usually falling back and re-grouping.  I have to admit I’ve got a touch of ship madness.  Ok enough of my rambling about nothing, on to the more important stuff.

Here is a current shot of “Da Skull Taka”.  Yep I had to go back (speaking of re-grouping) and add some plates and stuff under da top deck.  The pieces are not glued yet and it’s slid over just a bit.  There is a bit more of a lip (ledge?) in the pieces final resting place.  I was happy with how the bit turned out, now I’m going to have to seal that dead space (at the bottom) with some green stuff once I glue the bit in place.  I worry it’s going to be tough, but it’s one of those things that bothers me eye so it’s going to haft to be attempted.  I’m still thinking a bit of plates on da front, and I’ve got this icon of Khorne that I casted that I’m looking for a spot for.  I beefed up the exhausts and well  She is getting close, real close.

You can see from this angle that the port and starboard turrets are still off. (Da dorsal big gun is not glued and is crooked in this shot, I'll change that when it's glue down time)  They have this bad slope to dem.  I’m contemplating trying to pound the model from the underside in a attempt to straighten it out a bit.  I’m a little scared that I may make it worse.  Hopefully Da Boss stops me and sayz (good enough) otherwise it may receive some Grot-tec.  Ever have one of those “save me from me grots moments?”

And Da ova side

Here is the last of me Cobras.  “Da Knack Knacka” at least this is what it wants to be called.  I keep attaching different names to dis ship, but it keeps coming back to “Da Knack Knacka”.  So I’m thinking I’m not going to fight with it and just let it be what it wants to be!  I’ve still got a bunch of work to do, but I wanted to show you some progress.  The back shak’s side wall (port side) may need a wee bit more love.  I’m contemplating cutting the big plate off of da bridge piece (port side) and taking another shot at it.   I’m not sure what those round domes on the dorsal are meant to represent.  I’m thinking some kind of observation dome.  At any rate me thinks they need cutting off and some plates.  I was pretty happy with the nose gun replacing the torpedo slot.  It’s a little crooked but I think it’s good enough to stay (besides I’m a little afraid to take another run at it).  Ummmmmmm the ship needs it’s wings chewed up a bit to represent some battle damage and it’ll give it that Ork feel (me thinks).  Then it’s some teef and plates on Da prow.  Part of me wants to leave it as it is, but being Orks and all I feel like that would be the first place scrap would go.  Gotta have a Gob,  So Da prow will get some attention.

I’ll leave you with a closer shot of da starboard rear.  I wanted to show you my exhaust pipe and shak as I was pretty happy with it.  The window kills the scale, lucky for me I have a decent imagination, and well it works fer me (besides I’m at the apex of my abilities at this point of my life).  So I have some work ahead of me, but 1 ship at a time I’m getting closer.  Oh Da big Kannon on Da Dorsal will also get a plate as what kind of Ork would leave a big empty space when it could cover it wif somefing.  Ok, that’s me for now and thanks for reading!

Right on, thanks for the kind words.  It does help a Git stay motivated.  I'm back to wrestling with Da Prow on my Death Deala AKA "Munga Fish".  I started putting together its grill and well you know how it goes......  The good news is I started playing with a cool lil "gear shak" and it's even making Da Big Boss smile.

Updated my BFG scaled Ork turrets a bit, as you requested.

Inspired by this update, I've started reworking my printable Ork ships as well. (no update in that thread yet, just giving you a heads up).

Now all I can do is wait for the day that your Ork fleet and Tim's Nurgle fleet will face one another!

I found myself asking about BFG:R Orks, and shoot how can a git ask if they are not contributing; so I figured I’d throw some WIP shots in the hopes of not overstaying my welcome!   Work has been slow, I’ve been wrestling yet again with Da Prow on “Da Munga Fish” other names are sneaking into my brain but nothing that has stuck.  I’m kind of liking “Da Bad Git” and “Da Rough Nek” is also in the mix (too much Ska music filling my ears perhaps).  I’ve got a ways to go on this project so I have lots of time to decide.  Shoot I’m not even considering the time it is going to take to paint dis beast.  If I build slow, I paint even slower!  Ok enough of my yakking on to better stuff (I hope!)

Around and around me and this prow have fought.  Here is a shot without it’s dentures!  “Hey I’m naked, ya useless Git, put dem  back!!!!”  The flow on Da prow was just not right so I started playing with it and well I think I like what I’m seeing.  If not I’m in trouble as it will be a lot to cut off.

“Ahhhhhhhhh dat’s better!”  As you can see the Gob, smasha bumper still needs much love, but it is forming up ok me thinks.  I’m having a bit of a time lining everything up square, but being Orks and all I think I’ll be ok.  In the end I will magnetize the bumper Gob for ease of painting and transport.  I’ve still gotz ta build another bumper piece underneath to attach my Chin Squig (Da Boss likes his Chin Squig) pieces to.  It’s a bit overkill, but what Ork in his right mind doesn’t love over kill?  Normally Da Big Boss don’t like me showing these rough wip shots, but what he doesn’t know wont hurt him right?

Ok and dis last shot is to just give you an idea where I'm going wif dis.  You can see I have a lot to do, the good news is I’m starting to move back towards da engine space!  I wanted to show you the Gear shak I’m working on, I’m thinking it is going to be pretty cool when it’s done.  The tubes in “Da hole” will get some cleaning up.  The top plate (wif da arrow) is going to have a bunch of pipes coming out of it so try to ignore the dead space as it looks sort of funny the way it is now.  The first set of port broad sides are just holes right now, but I gotz some big shootas to fill that space.  Ok, that’s me for now, thanks for reading and comments advice or criticism is always more than welcomed.  Thanks!
