Just been reading Digganob again, thinking of what could be used as Muties and it hit me that Kroot Knarloc Riders could make great proxies- all the tech weapons that muties can receive also lend themselves well to tau weapons on the models. What do you think?

Ou the mutie minis...i miss them so much those were really great models. As for proxies i would suggest some Scavvies, but ovcourse they need to be mounted on something. I really liked the whole "Jihad" theme to them so i also thought abaout Tallarn desert riders FW even have them mounted on some "Star Warsish" beasties.

The kroot would be a good idea in place of muties which are very difficult to get and on the expensive side also. Some platic human (empire) and some Chaos bits (tentacles and etc) would make for some interesting conversions.

currently i am in th process of building some mutant figures, so far i was just gonna make them standing, but now after reading this i think ill make a few mounted  just for giggles and see what i can come up with, i will probably use some steeds of Slaneesh, Dark Eldar Cold Ones, and some Kroot  for the varrious mounts ...i will post the results here

...stay tuned.

GorkaMorka Krootie Raiders- Great Knarloc rules
« Reply #7 on: May 13, 2009, 01:09:53 PM »
I'll be putting in a forgeworld order next week as I decided to go with the Krootie Raiders!
Read over the rules, you know it makes sense! Many of the weapons are equal to tau and imperial advanced weaponry-
Arablast=Pulse Rifle, Caliver=Pulse Carbine, Arqueba=Meltagun, Jezail=Plasmagun-
etc. etc.

So why not expand on the kroot theme with rules for Greater Knarlocs- here are my ideas for the rules, I would like some opinions on the rules, especially the pricing please!

I converted mine out of ColdOne riders and Tanith models with other crud from my bitz box as I needed it.

Oh, and a fair amount of green stuff.

The goal was a derivative of the traditional red robed tech priests.

Here's the beginning of some of my models, just waiting for some bits in the post to assemble the rest (nob 'uge choppas for glaives on the 'unks ^_^)

Here's the Shaper (Seeker) with a Demilune, Jezail and Habergeon armour (still needs a greenstuff mask and cloak)

and a Snaga (Kroot) with Falchion (ok it's not a long blade, but a power axe, because it looked cooler. It's still powered!)

The 'Unks will be ork hybrid kroot, and the Keeper will be a bit of an ork hybrid mad mek.

As far as mutie riders, you could use ork legs, bodies, and arms mixed with the chaos mutation sprue.
Whomever said violence wasn't a solution obviously wasn't using enough.

Yea, Ork legs would be good and maybe some Zombie legs from Warhammer Fantasy.
