Hey all!

I have been bitten by an Epic bug and have been posting on the Tactical Command forum.  I've got a whooole bunch of models and some on order still to come.

So now my lead mountain is about 80% Warmaster, 20% Epic. =-D

First off is some Grey Knights.  I have Space Wolves, too but I still need to get the infantry for them.

I painted all my rhinos in one go as a test colour scheme and I'm super happy with the result.

Epic is a great game, and those Epic Stormravens are my bane...

I've recently been wondering if Warmaster could benefit from a small touch of Epic rules- mainly, that if an order is failed the target unit (or one of the target units, if ordering a brigade) can still do one limited action before the usual fail effect happens (eg. the unit can move at up to half speed, but cannot move within 1cm of an enemy unit). A blunder (or Giant goes Wild) would override this.

I've considered the same as I came into Warmaster from Epic but in the end I think that is what the iniative movement is for. Perhaps increase iniative range to 60 cm?

I very much like the alternating activation of units between the players and retaining initiative. I feel it gives a more interesting flow and you dont sit around and wait as much as with the IGOUGO that Warmaster uses... Warmaster with alternating activation + retaining would be very interesting but probably a lot of work to implement?

Back on topic!

A couple of mini projects, finished! It really annoyed me people mixing up their thrown dice and the ones they'd used for wound markers - or markers for carried over wounds and flesh wounds.

So I got some Minibits mdf frames with dice, the largest ones they do at 12mm.  Red dice for fresh wounds, blue dice for carried over wounds. =)

Not perfect but I think a damn sight better than any other one I've seen.  I have another 10 to make, but in more arid colours. With 20 in total that should work for all but the most elaborate battles and shooting phases. =-P

The "wound markers" in metal there are ones that I now use for confusion markers.  4 dwarf ones, 3 empire and 3 high elf.  I'm not going to make ones for each faction, just use these old official ones as generic.  I have others for orc/Chaos/undead that I will paint in arid colours.

Having trouble settling down to paint.  So easy to buy pewter, so hard to pick up a paintbrush!

But I did these - test bases for Storm Ravens for my Epic Grey Knights, and also test bases for all the basing in the army, really.  Just need to varnish them.  not sure if I should add some grass tufts/static grass or if that will spoil the look.

I agree with Andy- they look good as-is. The bases don't look like grassy places.

That pleasant feeling of finally getting something that was nagging you, done.

Some resin outcrops I got from eBay last year.  They were chock full of holes and took a lot of fixing - but now look presentable for multiple scales and climes. =)

Thanks, MlF!

Got these done today, as well.

The corner and straight dry stone walls from TBM.

Not sure how often I'd actually use them but really wanted to just have some for when we get round to doing more characterful / scenario type affairs especially with buildings.
