Really like the Marauders but they are a real pain to paint, aren't they?

Thanks, man.

It really felt like painting 28mm chaps. :-X

Finally finished off four, yes FOUR High Elf archer units for Warmaster, 300 points worth.

Bit too much for my poor little cameraphone lens so might take individual pictures of them or in twos for the blog.

High Elf Reavers!

Thanks, as always, for the kind words!

I once again thought that I could set up a "factory line" to paint 3 units of these at the same time, and once again got sick of seeing them.

I don't know how people do that; line up dozens of stands or models, no matter the scale, and work on them in batches.  I just feel like I'm not achieving anything.  I need the "hit" of seeing some finished that I can show off or I lose all interest.

So I have finished my first batch of High Elf Reaver cavalry and I am pretty proud of them.  Ideally I want to get the other two finished sharpish and then move onto Spearmen so I have a legal 2000 point army.

I agree. As soon as I get past priming and possibly overbrushing metal if I'm in that kind of mood, I can't work on more than two units at a time.

Loving the pale horses, an excellent contrast to the bright blue.

Very nice indeed, particularly impressed with the wood effect you've managed on the bows! Great looking unit.

I've almost managed to paint three individually mounted Goblins in probably longer than it has taken you to paint a whole unit! My productivity level sucks.

I challenged myself to paint a unit a week, this year.  Right now I'm on 29-ish when I should be on 35...

However, simply by having that as an ideal - I don't feel like I've failed, I feel like I've succeeded in having a painting rate at least 5 times faster than any previous year.

My most successful periods are when I clean my desk of absolutely every other unit / project, only allowing the one thing means I don't feel despondent about "what comes after".

I'm a fan of the horses too.. and the banner design, which really suits the tone of the unit. Impressive productivity too!

Thanks! The banners for my units are actually plastic bits from the 28mm Warhammer kits, some are from Wood Elves, some from High Elf White Lion units.
