Good places to get wheels?
« on: June 16, 2009, 03:34:42 PM »
Hiya!

I plan on starting up an Ash Wastes mini-campaign this fall, with Vehicles and everything. Now, while I do think that some of the new Ork vehicles and bikestuff GW has released looks very suitable, making an Ashwastes-gang using those models seem like an awful lot of money for a one-off campaign. I do have a lot of bits, probably enough to build a couple of bikes and certainly a couple of vehicles, but I don't have any wheels.

So, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to buy ok-looking wheels measuring about 10-15mm in size? Model companies, electronics sites, anyhere. They don't acctually need to be wheels, just something that works as hub and spokes works, I kan make the rubber part with greenstuff. Quantity and cheapness is the key :)

Thanks!

Hi. I had the same problem. I was planning to run a necro/gorkish campaign with vehiciles and stuff. I did plan to buy some ork kits but I was also looking for cheaper vehicules becouse not everyone was willing to spend money on ork boxes just to play the campaign. And I stumbled upon this, it's a part of toy soldier playset and it costed me about 5zł and that's about 1Ł. I think it's great for it's price and after a few changes it can make an awesome ash waste buggy. I found it in one of those "all for 1Ł shops" but i'm sure that most toy sellers have those plastic soldier sets. If you get lucky you can also get some fantastic barb wire along with it.
