I like the idea of a lone ghoul character- maybe a Strigoi vampire?

I like your idea. I just jump and took my vampire count armylist. It seems Strigoi clans are in the south (borderland, Tilea, etc...), interesting. I was thinking in an army close to Kislev (because is obvious I am finishing my kislev army), and I had in mind Necrarca army in the Middle mountains.

But your idea of strigoi is now in my mind. So when I start solo players (if I ever start the game project) then our Kislevites should visit Tilea :)

Do you guys, just play? or do you have some little backgorund after and before the game?

It varies, I play both at tournaments (were I obviously just play) and at home. At home the battles between my Skaven and Dark Elves are part of an ongoing narrative.

Project: Vampire counts and aristocracy of the night

Unit: Winged nightmare

The Winged Nightmare is a truly horrifying creation of the Vampire Counts, who use their mastery of necromantic magic to fuse together body parts from powerful creatures such as Griffons and Manticores, supplemented with deadly horns, spines, tusks and huge malformed claws.

So project complete, I will do the foto finish of the proyect

Let's move on to the next project:

Project: Dux Bellorum, Sea invaders

Character: Oswulf, leader of the party

Oswulf and the pirates from Jutland make an expedition in 844 to raid first Lisbon and then sailing the Guadalquivir river attack Seville defying Abderraman II caliph of Córdoba from Omeya dinasty.

I've never seen a Nightmare other than the official GW one.

I modified a little bit the position of the arms and he wings of the nightmare, and also cut par to "saddle" of the vampire raider as I did not like it.

PROJECT COMPLETE VAMPIRE COUNTS AND ARISTOCRACY OF THE NIGHT

THINGS THAT BUMP IN THE NIGHT + ARISTOCRACY OF THE NIGHT.
I almost finish the vampire count army, with the wolves of BOFA, the skellies of the khemri and a black night + tomb guard that I painted last year and these projects for me the army is done.

Now another project:

Project: Dark elves, under the spell of Motathi the witch

Unit: 4th Regiment of crossbowmen

This regiment of crossbowmen act as a recon unit or explorers in the sea raider incursions of the dark elves. 4th regiment is not compose of lots of elves but all of them are veterans of other regiments and very skilled archers.

Project: Dark elves, under the spell of Motathi the witch

Unit: 4th regiment of infantry, dark executioners

The Executioners of Har Ganeth are members of the cult of Khaine, Lord of Murder. In the cult's hierarchy they come after the Witch Elves, brides and priestesses of Khaine. However even a Witch Elf can be punished and sacrificed if she is found wanting. They are specialists in sacrificing people, be it High Elves, humans, Dwarfs, or otherwise.

That must have been a lot of character packs- or did you convert some?

They are not GW figures. They are figures from Bel.

How is it 32 points? What game system is that?

Also, in the time I've painted a clanrat unit you've painted an army  :o At this point I've concluded you never sleep

32 points of Dux Belorum  http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/88079/dux-bellorum

The sieze of the bases is not fixed in the system, so I choose, 40x20mm. The figures are 100% compatible for warmaster.

I could use the vikings as Norsca tribes for fantasy games. Also the OG figures are very nice, if you scultp some horns in the helmet (it is not needed to have great sculpting habilities to put hornes) you obtain some norsca very close to the GW concept.

I am glad to hear about painting projects: do you have an skaven army and you are expanding it or just begining with skavens?
