Ha ha, you Europeans should post in the Trades section and ask to be sent some 2ps in the post!

Speaking for myself, I'm planning on using the 25mm round Warhammer 40k bases or the Flames of War small bases for the longer command strips that don't fit.  I know that might sound perverse but I actually want my heroes to look "higher" from the battlefield.

That would be a great business idea.
I saw the FOW bases with pugwash's empire army and liked the look very much.

@ Guthwine:
I wish I could paint that free hand but I've got to disappoint you. The shield's emblems are just part of the mini   ;D

Never knew they had those on there. :) But still expertly painted nonetheless.

The last days I painted sample stands for my next two units. One unit of regular Averland Knights and some Knights of the blazing sun. I'm quite happy with the look espacially the blazing suns. But somehow I think there's too much purple on the knights. Should I better change the banner to a black and yellow one? What do you think?

Purple looks fine to me, 3 points bookending the strip front middle rear.

OK I'm trying to paint my reaver knights and I've got to ask - it seems all the time I keep finding tiny spots that I need to touch up with Chaos Black, or even just handling them at all seems to wear off some raised points back to base metal... Do you have any tips for me?

I like the purple one better, the color does a nice job breaking up the darker colors I think.

@Stormwind: Apply your basecoat generously or in 2 Layers that should help with the blank spots.
Some raised points do get some wear like speartips for example, if they are one the reins or something that shouldnt be that pointy try to file them down a bit before coating.

I think I will use both paint schemes as they are for my next units. Thanks for the input.

@ Stormwind: First I spraycoat my minis and after that procedure it's totally normal that some blank spots remain. Just use some diluted chaos black or as Guthwine already said do a second layer. And handle them with care  ;)

While the forum was down I had some time to finish two unit of knights. This gives me the last troops I need for a nice 1000p empire list.

1 general
1 hero
1 wizard with the ring of magic

Infantry Block:
2 halberdiers
1 greatswords (halberdiers with the sword of might)
1 crossbowmen

Cavalry Wing:
2 knights
1 pistoliers

Missile Brigade:
1 cannon
1 handgunners
1 crossbowmen

I hope I can post some pics of the whole army soon. Meanwhile here are the two units of knights:

Knights of the elector count of Averland:

Knights of the blazing sun:

Yes you can. But first I have to paint my mountain of blisters . This will take about 100 years. ;D

They look great Dom. Should we ask CS to take down the forums so you can get to 2k? :P
