@jchaos79

Thank you. I basically copied the paint scheme aswell...  ::) It's from the regular Warhammer Phoenix Guards. Pics are on the GW Site. Just with the feathers I had to "improvise".
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work! What's next on your workbench?

Maybe today I will finish some historical arabs. In my workbench have some blisters of fantasy and a almhoade & chistian kingdom armies (trying to recreate Las Navas de Tolosa battle 1212). When finished I will reuse this two armies to build up fantasy araby and bretonian painting a few more units and characters. That is my main plan for 2011.

Far future is a daeomon army and expand chaos and high elves with the special units.

what is your To do list?

This should keep you busy in 2011.  :) Right now I'm expanding my high elves a bit. I don't like some minis anymore because they were the first I painted. So there are 2 Archer units on the workbench and a bit of everything will follow. Next I'm going to paint my Empire army. My plan is to paint a playable army 1000p+ in 2011.

Good looking minis you got there. I like your bases quite a bit as well.

When you based your Tomb Kings what did you use for the ground cover? It looks like coffee grounds and looks like real dirt. I am preparing to base some Warmaster for the first time and i'm a bit worried about it as I know a bad basing job can break a good paint job. Any advice?

@graymatterblues

Thank you. I think basing is almost more important than the paintjob itself. It can make bad minis look way better than the other way round.
For all minis I just used two types of modelling sand mixed together. One is quite fine (about 1/3mm) and the other one is about 1mm in diameter and looks more rocky. I think it's used as coal chunks in model railroads. Not sure anymore. After a black undercoat I painted it scorched brown, strong drybrush with bestial brown and light drybrush with bleached bone. The gras is summer gras by "Noch". The Elves got the same sand mix but just painted black, codex grey, fortress grey and white. The base edges were painted bestial brown. Ah, I almost forgot. I used a white wood glue/water mix 60:40 and a little bit of dish detergent for the sticky job. Hope I could help you.

Here's a pic of my sand box.

Two weeks ago I painted some additional units for the Euro GT.

The general with his silver helm escort leading a unit of Reaver Knights into battle.

A battery of deadly 3+ bolt throwers  ;)

I got it. You are also complaining about my bad photograph skills.  :)

Yes, great advice. Especially your color choices. I am basing my units over the next few days and hope to have some pictures by the end of the weekend. Thanks for the help!

Finally I finished some chariots and more eagles. Both units were fun to paint as they are way faster to finish than reavers or silver helms.
