WM Chariots
« on: September 13, 2010, 10:32:33 PM »
Hello all!

I have just started to put together my first chariots for my Chaos army.
I haven´t done any chariots before so i am a bit puzzled in which way is the best to combine assembling and painting.
Does anyone have a good tip in how to do it with best result?

As i understand it, it is close to impossible to paint them properly after they are all put together, right?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks

Hi.

First put the horses/draughts on the base and finish paint job of them and for the base Base.

Assemble the Chariot parts and paint them.
When finished you can glue the chariot on the base....you don´t need to glue them on the horses.

The crew of the chariot you can paint separately and keep spots where you want to place them in the chariot, unpainted. Or you take very thin wire and drill holes into the crew and the chariot where you want to place them ...but in my opinion this is slightly overkill......Superglue + not painted space worked fine for me so far ;)

I did almost the same with mine with the exception that I didn't glue one of the horses down until I was assembling the thing. This meant leaving a section of the base unsanded until the very end but the rest of it, along with one of the horses, was sanded and painted allowing the chariot to sit on top of the earth nicely. They're fiddly! Oh, and I didn't pin the crew in, they're just stuck onto the painted chariot once finished and so far they've stayed on.
