Clarification about past availability of BOFA models
« on: May 06, 2009, 08:55:10 PM »
I have heard a rumour that you used to be able to buy individual plastic BOFA sprues.
Was that the case?

What with the new trial/experimental forces coming out soon this sort of resource would be invaluable, I am thinking hobgoblins(for chaos dwarves), wood elves, albion/witch hunter and dwarf militia :)
I really don't fancy buying 4 boxes of BOFA just to get the dwarves I need :(

You used to be able to buy Good and Evil reinforcement packs. Essentially they were the sprues from the army box. However, it was usually most cost effective to buy the main box again to get what you wanted.

Also, keep in mind that the Good sprue had men, dwarves and elves on it. So you'd be getting three new armies. Anyone know if the metal blisters will ever return?

Yes, I remember the option of buying the sprues of the evil army or the good army (mixed dwarfs and elves). But I think this sets were discontinued at the same time as the metal figures of Bofa. And also the 2 sections montain were also available.

I only bought the mountain, the elf cavalry and the dwarfs archers waiting to paint them all and then I will buy more sets to complete the line. Because Bofa range were a nice sculpted figures. sniff, ... Discontinued happens!!

(I dont know if I have replayed your question....)  :)

I have managed to get 3 lots of evil armies to bolster my O&G or CD armies.
I also have 10 units of each of the elves and 5 units each of the men.
But I desperately need the dwarves to use as militia I only have 2 units :(

Anyone up for trading any of the models from the box for BOFA dwarves?

As for the metal models they discontinued them the day I was at WHW so I was a little annoyed as I still needed 4 packs of elven riders, I ended up finding a store in Canada with a back stock of them.

I for one hope that we see them return.
Smaug has got to be one of the best made 10mm dragons out there :)

absolutly, I haven't the smaug dragon figure, but for the pictures I have seen it is very very original pose and dynamic.

10mm is a beautifull scale,
