[BFG]- Strike cruiser prow question
« on: March 13, 2019, 08:06:24 AM »
A quick question to all the masters of the fleet out there: Does the Space Marine strike cruiser prow actually have launch bays modeled on? I couldn't seem to find any, but pictures of the prow from various angles are hard to come by. If there is a distinct launch bay, could anyone post a picture?

I am asking because I want to remodel parts for 3d printed strike cruisers to have all the options available in BFG:R.

Thanks for your help!

You can see the bay on the deathwatch cruiser.  A similar one is modelled on the gk one too. The deathwatch prow is mangozac the gk ship a 3d print by admgr on shapeways. Hope this is of help...

Thanks for the reply! I cannot really tell where the bays would be from the side on pictures though...
Anyone got a pic of the original GW model perhaps?

Well, on the DW one it's the raised bit directly below the cannon turret.

this is the front view of an official model. If I were altering this i'd put them either side of the central bit... You know, up against the inside of the big defence 'plates'

Ah, i see it now, thanks for the pointer ^^
And many thanks for the frontal picture! Yeah I'd put it in the same spot you have proposed, I'm kinda surprised there is nothing like a slit to hint at the bay... Oh well, I'll fit two slits into the thing between the shield parts, this will also be easily converted into an array of holes for torpedoes I think.

This has helped me a great deal, now I can fantasize about what I do not actually have the time to do for at least two weeks :P

No worries. Bfv needs love.
But I've Got to be honest my help was not entirely altruistic in nature.
I'm excited to see any new strike cruiser prints that are to be made! Lol  will these be a shapeways print (or similar) or unavailable to the rest of us :(
