It's not even a mention...BFG's rerelease is at least 2+ years out, and if other hearsay from the event is to be believed, it's going to get completely ruined by making it SM vs SM vs SM vs SM vs SM...
"Battlefleet Ultrasmurfs against Battlefleet Sigmarmarines"
+ rescaling.
+ ships wich can only be used for a limited time.
+ continous updates for sm, then for one other faction, than for sm...
+ continous rising prices.
+ powercreep.
+ ultrapowercreep. that kind of powercreep only gw can imagine.
+ dumbed-down rules. to reach a bigger audience. lets get those 8 year olds in.
+ models cast in some obscure new material wich cost nothing in produktion, looks like an accident, sells for at least double the price, gives you cancer AND bestow some kind of curse on your family which your descendants can only cure with help from the sixt daughter of a sixt daughter of mahatma gandhi.
Can't wait.
The only "good thing" i see right now: If BFG (or what will be left from BFG) will be played in gw-stores - we can swarm them. With stuff they will not like. With Selfmade Tyranid ships. With Ships from 3D-printers. With recasted ships. With fleets that doesn't have official models like Rak'Gol or Fra'al. Just for the moment when mr. redshirt has to decide if he wants to risk the mood of his "new game event" or not.
Edit:
To post at least something "constructive" and not "only rant":
What they really SHOULD do (but thats not gonna happen):
- they should just look around what kind of different rulesets are out there and why they exist. Non-official rulesets have formed because of some difficulties with the base rules (BB+Armada+f2010). Then they could adress the problematic parts and create a ruleset wich is almost identical to the rules every BFG-player knows, but with less problems
- they should look around for non-official ship profiles (especially from BFG:Fr) and make them official. After their inventors recieve their money, i am sure gw knows about "intellectual property".
And that may be it.
