Some major advances on my arachnarok those last days.

I have selected the bits i wanted and prepared a howdah.

And here it is, with railings.

Addition of a Siege range orc ladder.

And preparation of the main mast, with an old shield. I like its old design very much :)

First tests with inhabitants after a carefull selection. Mainly archers and standard bearers.

Beginning of the painting... And basing (silicon like for my puzzle table). I have chosen a pale colour for wood, as the spider is already dark.

And the long painting task...

Mast is almost ready. An other spider for a gob hero is on its way too. Ant the gobs themselves.

And here we are with the gobs ! Several time i had to unglue and reglue them...

And it's done, or very nearly ! Sorry for pictures with flash, it was nearly night.

On its triple base (wip).

And i have textured it and added small spiders from the original base of the spider.

And the futur hero and his mount.

I saw the first picture of your Arachnarok and thought "eewww..."
So I guess you deserve an extra sincere compliment for the paint job  ;D

Love the Arachnarok!

Well done on constructing the deck and banner, those planks and ladder must’ve been very fiddly.

Thanks for everything, guys ! It helps for motivation !

I have finished this week-end both the arachnarok and the hero on spider.

First job on the bases.

Painting the saddle of the hero on spider.

Addition of details on the big arachnarok base.

It's not very visible but i have added a sepia wash on yellow, to fade it, and a green one on goblins themselves.

And here is an impression of its volume inside an army.

And here they are both, with terminated base and painting job for the hero.

I'm happy it's done ! It was long but fun and i'm on my way for further project.

Where on earth are those tiny tiny spiders on the base from? Lord of the Rings baby spiders?

When a guy here traded me the giant spider, it camed with a base with them. I had to cut them off and glug them again on my base.

So i'm not sure... But as far as i know, those giant spiders come with this special base. I will ask him to confirm.

It's great to see the finished product- it really inspires me to get on and do my own. I had plans to try and recast the forest goblin models then cut them up, but that'd take a lot of work and yours looks great as-is. I like your idea of using the sitting wolf chariot goblin- may steal that one   ;)

If I understand correctly, then those little spiders are a regular moulded detail on the bases of the Battle for Skull Pass goblin spider rider models. They're similar but different to the normal spider rider boxed set, which I don't think have those details. I may have that around the wrong way, but the big spider looks to be single piece, which supports my memories.

Yes, the big spider is a one piece molded fig.

Tell us what you plan to do for your own ? What model would you like to use ?

To recast forest gobs would be great. But it's hard to use blue stuff with 10mm figs. You have to mold them carefully. But it can works. Try it !

My plan was basically the same as yours- I have a few of those single-piece spiders. I hadn't put much thought into the details of the howdah, but think I'll steal yours. I may add a web-flinger catapult. My only difference was the idea to try and recast forest goblins on foot.
I was also going to make a mounted spider goblin character, but using an old plastic spider swarm model. They're not the most detailed though, so may steal your idea on a spider source there too.

I'll keep you updated, though it may be a long time coming.

Back from three weeks of holydays under the sign of the 10 mm paiting.

Here are some new gobelin units and heros !

A squig unit.

The two big white squigs are bad casts of a 40K small suigs on an ork hand. But well, they where free and just needed small GS arrangements.

I have finished them but forgot to take a complete pict after that. You will see them further in this message with other units.

I have also advanced on a certain number of heros.

With the same squig (i had three of them), here is a gob hero on giant squig.

Addition of a saddle and tail. My first real scults with GS.

Addition of bits from the two pieces in front of the hero. A shield and a gob arm.

And here is Gliduk, the Troll Flail !

OK... In fact he was enslaved by a troll to fulfill his worst tasks, like cleaning him and the cave he lived in. Gliduk fled with his head and leg bone when his mastered died of disentry and returned to his tribe, where he was welcomed as a hero and promoted to the rank of hero.

And after that, i have changed his base to suit the others. I confunded the money pieces to use...

And the squig grow some claws !

Here is an ork idol freshly painting with just cream layer and then two wash layers of brown and sepia.

And some vegetation.

Here is the beginning of an other hero : Mounted on a giant mushroom prepared with GS excedent (i always do mushrooms when i have some).

See you soon for the following stuff prepared during those nice weeks. Just need time to arrange pictures.

Beautiful workmanship on these Gobbos and I also like the basing! The spiders are particularly cool, well done so far!
