Biggest game ever played??

Just a curiosity...wich was the biggest/longest match ever played?..when I play with 1000 points it's 4/5 hours, but I can put in play models for 3/4000 points...; has someone tried that, or in the time when GW supported the game, have they made a big battle for WD??

4/5 hours for a 1000pts game is pretty long. For us it usually is between 2 and 3 hours for 1000pts. However it doesn't matter really as it is the fun that counts not how fast or slow the game is.

The largest game we played was 2500 points. Personally I think that is the maximum for a good Battlefleet Gothic game. This mainly due the rule mechanics and overall balance.

But I've read battle reports of up to 10000 points with a lot of fun it it.

1500 Planetary Assault, with me as the defender.  I brought Abbadon, who is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for an ordnance-heavy fleet that big.

We usually play 1500pts as that just seemed the 'normal' things to do but we're looking at making 2000pts the regular thing (once I get some things built painted!). These games last a couple of hours, maybe 3?, but we do an awful lot of chatting.

However myself and my regular opponent both have enough ships to each fill a whole IN sector fleet (6 Battleships, 6 Batttlecruisers/GC, 12 Cruisers/Light Cruisers and escorts.). With about 45 escorts in my fleet it works out at 7500pts and I'll chuck in my 2500pt Marine fleet to round it off to 10,000pts.

It will probably take a whole weekend to play but to hell with it. A 20,000pt game needs to be done

2000 points is the biggest game I've played, but now you've given me a hankering for a truly apocalyptic space battle.

If I borrow my brother in laws half of the fleet and field the whole of battle fleet eschataris (that's painted at least) it would be something like
9 battleships
6 grand cruisers
6ish battlecruisers (prob closer to 10)
20ish cruisers (can be upped to 25ish if a challenge is made )
9 dauntless
40ish escorts
I know you aren't too far off that? Do you have a week off work to plough through that game?

Yes, that was reference to you Who else do I play Gothic against? Well......... I do have a couple of weeks off in July. It'll take us a day to set up. Do you have a 8'x4' Gothic table?

Well, I can't quite match that fleet (yet) but I can have a go. I have 2 more Battleships, a Grand cruiser (god I hate that model), 3 dauntless, a Cruiser and 24 more escorts on the way........ I can always add in the Dreadnought to even things up

If you want both fleets to be fully painted you're going to be waiting a LONG time. If you don;t mind basecoated ships then.....well...

Sounds like a trip to Warhammer world is needed, book 2 tables for a 12x4? I think we would need sub commanders to help with moving stuff around lol.
Shame it would be another friendly fire exercise though.
Any body got a non imperial navy fleet that could take us both on? might need an even bigger table for that

My Fleet now stands at..

1x Dreadnought
8x Battleships,
8x Battlecruisers
12x Cruisers
4x Light cruisers
60x Escorts.

That's not including the resin stuff either. So you out number me quite a bit. Although I do have 2500pts of Marines to chuck in if need be. Or we could just limit it to 10000pts? Just remove the restriction on the maximum number of cruisers.

I best get painting....... Other than the dreadnought none of it is finished!
