(WM) thick bases
« on: November 28, 2016, 03:00:23 PM »
I have been playing around with thicker bases for my Warmaster figures.  Like half an inch think type of bases.
It makes them much easier to handle and move.  I lack the material and tools to make clean accurately sized bases though.
Does anyone know a supplier that I could hit up?

The dimension I would be looking for would be 2cm x 4cm x 1 or 2cm (thickness).
Maybe some laser cut 1/2 inch MDF, if thats even possible, or even plastic.
I checked with Litko and nothing seems to get that thick.

Can't you just glue several of the Warmaster or Renedra bases on top of each other to get the desired thickness?

I think Stormwind has a sensible suggestion there boss. A bit of wood glue and a light sand and you're laughing.

Alternatively there will be someone you know who does wood working who will access to a bench saw which will be able to reliably give you uniform sizing by using a guide.

I can't see you having any joy with the usual basing folks as it's just so much thicker than the common requirement. These blokes suggest they're open to alternative sizes but I suspect they still mean 2mm thick. http://www.productsforwargamers.com/mdf_bases.html
