Markers; wounds, disordered - a way to remove some clutter.

I was at 'Warfare' in Reading UK this year and saw a novel idea thought of by a trader; commission-figurines.
He did a row of holes drilled in the base at the back. Big enough for a cocktail stick, attached to the sticks were small beads that told what you needed to know about wounds or status.

I thought this was brilliant as the markers moved with the base. I might do small flags/pennents colouring indicating status.

Can think of many uses e.g.:
To remind me the unit can fire at incoming,
That a monster/giant is now down to half wounds.
The unit is disordered
The unit is actually 'off table'
Wounds carried forwards from last combat round, especially true for some rules sets where wounds stay with a unit.
Might also highlight my elite units from the regular where the painting/models don't.
I play in Maidenhead and belong to

spell effects like suffering wierd enchantment or the sword of fate that only works in the first charge can also be interesting to highlight in the battlefield.
